I'm telling you....he acts differently and if the way he acts with Sara is love.....I don't think I know what love is no more If Cath and Gil isn't love...then I dont' know what is

Hi Coolc! Finally managed to register to post a reply on your board.
Yeah, he shares his water with her. I love that. What I also noticed is that when Sara starts up with him, Gil stiffens, backs off, or simply runs away, with Cath, HE is the one moving into HER personal space He hovers over her, he eavesdrops on her phone conversations, and of course, she's never uncomfortable with that.
Re: touching differences
i know. even when they argue they are in each other's space. something i've noticed in s5 (what i've seen of it) is that even though sara is being forced on us when she interacts with grissom her body language is not open to him. when cath interacts with gil her body is open towards him.
look at the scene outside the morgue in harvest and how she is sitting and how he is sitting. then look at the scene outside the interrogation room in swap meet with the other. two different stories being told there.

Re: touching differences
So that's why I read the Swap Meet scene as distinctly uncomfortable!

Re: touching differences
Great idea! It'll help me get better at reading body language too, and maybe I'll get more out of the shippy part of the show
On CSIFiles, someone mentioned that Carol M once said to "watch for those little hints" or something to that effect, in terms of which ship TPTB are really shipping.
So yeah, let's get beyond the obvious but remember, The Evidence Never Lies!
Re: touching differences
hehe. ren, you may have to help me out on this one. and just think how much better we'll be at reading people once we are done with our study of body language.

lmao! you are so mean.. hmm.. ill look for the touching differences.. however, i couldn't find anything to compare with cuz the other one hardly has touch scenes!!
Re: touching differences
exactly. i was watching 4x4 this weekend and when ss comes up the hill she doesn't even give grissom a hand. cath always gives him a hand (or tush or elbow or soemthing)

Smart girl though. She probably knew that he'd rather roll down the hill again than to take her hand! I'm mean!
Re: touching differences
i think it's just the difference between how the characters relate. i mean seriously, gil and cath do watch out for each other. they help each other. they anticipate each others needs.
and something else, remember that book grissom gave sara? do you also remember in s1 how she said she doesn't like bugs at all? so why would he give her a book unless it was just something to give to shut her up?

Re: touching differences
I'd say to shut her up. Because he was going out of his mind with her whining?
CSI might lack continuity in many ways, the one way it doesn't is with Grissom's hopeless people skills. He really doesn't remember personal details about people, so absorbed he is with his work. The only exception is Cath. When it comes to her, he not only remembers, he anticipates.
And she is his only motivation for doing paperwork! I suspect he took the time to write up her evaluation in Secrets and Flies because while writing it, he would legitimately be using department time to think (and maybe indulge in a little fantasising?) about her.
I'd love to have learned what he gave Cath for Christmas. It'd have been something very personal, in the same order as Piggy Boy which he loved, and knew that she loved too. Isn't that just so sweet...
