I have tried low carb way of eating. I am 5'4 and weigh 135 pounds. I have 15 pounds to lose. I have tried every diet. My highest weight was 172# after my second child. Most of my weightloss has been on just portion control. My biggest problem seems to be as soon as I decide I want to lose weigt thats all I think about and I gain. This happens every time I try weight watchers. When I try low-carb I lose a few pounds and I begin to feel thinner after a day or so. The problem seems after an initial loss of at the most 3#'s that's it. I drink water. Could it be I eat too much? I have followed very low carb diet X2wks with just that little weight loss. Am I expecting too much in a short time? Does any one have suggestions? I excercise too. I appreciate any help. Thank you.

Hang in there, Roseanne! I just hit a total weight loss of 31lbs today and attribute that loss to being patient. I've tried every "diet" in the book and find that this new way of eating--low carbs--to be the only thing that has worked for me without making me go hungry, feel deprived or miserable. BUT IT'S SLOOOOWWWWWW GOING! That was the hardest thing for me to deal with as I felt if I passed up one cookie, I ought to find myself 5lbs lighter for my having been strong. Then I remind myself to get off the damn scale and remember that I didn't put this excess weight on in a few weeks so don't expect to lose it that fast either. Good luck. It does work.

I have been low carbing since before Thanksgiving. I lost about 9 lbs, but now am just holding.I am not giving up I still want to lose another 20 lbs, but just wish the products for baking ect.. were cheeper and easier to get ahold of, for those of us who have to watch our pennys. We don't normally buy alot of meat and this is getting to be a quite expencive way of living. And the Dr Atckins films say you can eat out without worry, but thats near impossable unless it's a steak house.Any suggestions? Can someone e-mail me with any kinds of help please? At blrose38@MomMail.com

Boy do I relate!!! I so often get that mood - danger zone for a slip up and I"Ve done a few, too! I think it's normal to get like that. Sometimes I get so down about it all and wonder why it is others can just eat like a normal person and not worry, when so many of use are worrying about every morsel we put in our mouths! Oh dear, now I'm getting depressed!

i know what you mean, ive been low carbing for two weeks now and my food bill has rocketed... not easy on the pocket i also cannot fing sausages that do not contain sugar or wheat starch or potato. the lowest sausage i can find is 10.9 g carb per sausage!!! im just like "whoah" im getting fed up with looking at eggs for breakfast and cheese for snacks. I miss my fruit and cereal, but at the end of the day ive lost 11lbs in this first two weeks so ive got to stick with it... i did weight watchers but was constantly hungry, took me 5 months to lose 35 lbs at rate of two ponds per week, then i managed to put it all on again in the spaceof three weeks... so im trying to stick with this
