lets go awhl fans - what do you want to see
lets get everyone over here to
speak of the AWHL - this league is growing.....
Is Lake charles, or Monroe supposed to be joining soon.
I have read that somewhere.
I know it is pretty expensive to travel in this league with the distance but I hope that every team gets to play each other at least one weekend next year.
Even if they alternate seasons as to who travels and even
a leaguewide tournament at the beginning of the season to start it off would be an idea.
An all star game with North VS South would also be a nice format just like all the minors and pros complete with the skills competition and all. Lets make some noise fans.
What would other fans like to see out of this league. !!
I have heard Lake Charles, Monroe and Alexandria as well as Abiliene. Hopefully it gets started soon and gives these markets another team just like they did in Central Texas.
I agree on an All-Star game and skills competition. That would be so neat. It is kinda hard to make road trips when the teams are so far apart. That is one thing that hurts the fans and it also could effect the teams as well seeing as they draw no (or very little) out of towners.

There we're some bozeman fans in the CTX stands for their games here. That is some true fan loyality - that's a long trip.
All of them we're extremely nice people and hope they were treated good. I got to talk a little with them at each game
and they are truly good people and great fans of hockey.

I don’t think the current setup of the AWHL is financially reasonable for any of the teams. There is too much travel and associated expense. It would be nice to see a North and a South division. I like chiefs idea of a preseason tourney to showcase talent and then I would suggest separate playoffs with the two division winners slugging it out for the championship.
If the current travel between North and South continues next season there will be no teams left in the North to travel South. This is a critical time for the AWHL and it must be managed well if it is going to survive.

Lets hope that the league can get it worked out.
I know that I would like to see all the teams play each other -
but as bullsfan mentioned its the travel expenses. Maybe 2-3 week swings with more games crammed together - then you have to look at the player fatigue - and middle of the week games.
Any ideas anyone ....
I agree with bullsfan about the playoffs - that would be good
especially if the south can get a few more teams with some better
competition like the north. The north would have a great playoff
series right now - the south, well you might as well let CTX and WF
slug it out and wait. - we need more teams down here

The only problem with Lake Charles is that their city government isn't exactly warm to the idea of having hockey back in the Civic Center. Believe me, they have the fan base -- just check the Pirates Board...
