i'm aliiiiiiiiive!
hey all!
have you kids seen that movie "short circuit" (and let's not forget the ever-popular sequal, "short circuit TWO") where the robot goes around screaming "johnny 5 is alive!!!" ?? anyone? anyone? bueller...?
anyway, just wanted to let y'all know i'm still alive, still making music, still loving you and your awesome support/encouragement. sorry i've been so neglectful of this special forum we've got here, i just didn't feel like i had anything cool to say. but there are some exciting things on the horizon now, so just wanted to say hello and give an update:
for one, the new EP is almost done! so close....i can almost taste it. and it tastes good. like caramel brownies. mmmmm.... anyway, i'm really excited--and a little nervous---for the new sounds that have emerged from this project, and i can't wait to share it with you all! i'm hoping (fingers crossed, look of intense concentration) to release it mid december, so keep your eyes and ears open!
secondly, i'm participating in a fun little sideproject band with my brother matty and our friend and his bandmate andy smith from the red west. think postal service meets death cab meets cat power meets pinback meets electro funk death metal meets gosh knows what else. it's going to be fun, we'll just say that 
our first gig is going to be Wednesday, November 3rd at Lestat's, so if anyone's in San Diego, mark your calendars and come on out! it'll be good times
well, well...what else? i'm excited to see where the next months will take me in this journey called independent musicianship. thanks for taking the trip with me, maybe we can make some pit stops together and load up on big gulps and sour licorices.
sounds like a plan!
