Ohh kewl! I asked my better half for my next tattoo for xmas. I've just started on it with my cousin. It's a Faerie sitting in the rain, for my Daughter (Raine).

To those of you planning children, try to engineer it to be a non-Christmas related baby! We get ripped off in the present department every year
(As a grownup, it doesn't matter so much, but when you're a kid, it sucks to hear "here's one present for both Christmas and your Birthday" from Great Aunt Mary.
Also, when you want to have a birthday party, none of your friends can come because it's the day before Christmas!

IMO I always thought that April would be the best time to have a birthday. No holidays to be associated with, and no big events (like the State Fair that always robbed my birthday party at the end of August). The weather is usually nice, and it's not in the height of 'family vacation' time.

So completely true. And my birthday isn't even as close to Christmas as yours.
Mine is December 16th.
I got my first two tattoos as birthday/christmas presents last year from a friend. I've got one more thing I want done, badly, but it's huge.. so it's going to be a lot of money. It was quoted at $300, and that just doesn't sound right at all since my two small ones were $160 for both.

Yep, 7 tattoos here, three of which are dragon's including a red "fafnir" on my tummy right over my appendix.
Fafnir is a red dragon that protected the Treasure of Light and is my "totem". I'm 1/4 comanche and that side of the family is big on totem's. Dragon's aren't very indian, but oh well, that's been my totem all my life and it ain't changin.

My eldest son's birthday is on this day too! We make sure to celebrate his birthday specifically and never lump it with the holidays. I know he's my child but he is like the best kid in the world (and so is my little guy, lol). I want him to always know how special he is.
