Absolutely gorgeous !!!!
I truly love the mountains with the beautiful colors and variety of sounds. The reason I moved to Denver (wellllll - one of them) I am indeed envious and know the campout had to be a lot of fun!

Re: Turkey Run State Park, Indiana
Sorry, I should have said, but it's West Central Indiana. About an hour west of Indianapolis. No mountains, it's glacier ravines. It does look like mountains though.

I work outdoors, so usually don't get to enjoy the sights much. It's amazing what you take for granted. It was nice to just stroll along, and not have to be anywhere.
Re: Turkey Run State Park, Indiana
I know what you mean. When I got to lake erie I notice the sky... I'm in the city so because of the buildings and such you don't see much of the sky where I'm at. Amazing!
Montana has it all. the sky , the mountains and the clarity of senses. Doesn't take very long to realize what you miss by being in the city.
Oh yeah, and there's a glacier there too-----lol. and a lake called Glacier lake that staddles the Canadian border. I canoed on time from U.S. to Canada and had dinner and then canoed back.. lotta fun, almost capsized on the way back, the wind had picked up during dinner and the waves were getting fairly high and rough. Lotta fun - great adrenalin rush..
Re: Turkey Run State Park, Indiana
That is basically why I moved to Denver. The big city is here but one(to 1.5) hour out and you"re deep in the mountains, away from people and all the crap stuff.
I don't like small towns much (montana towns are all small) the largest pop. is like 120K - I think. Everybody knows everybody elses business - even if they got no business knowing it!!!! lol and every body knows everybody (possibly a good thing in moderation).

My folks live in a town of about 3000. To small for me.
I was thinking about selling everything, and then moving to the Canadian Wilderness. Be a Mountain Man. With Satilite Internet of course. Couldn't live with out the Abyss... and porn.
Re: Turkey Run State Park, Indiana
Possibly, this is one of the reasons we seem to mesh fairly well, I have many times contempated becoming a "mountain man" and I have actually gone out and camped out for 2 weeks. It was great and I had no problems worthy of mention, other than the food situation. I am not the happiest person, with meat in front of me on the plate. I'm not much of a meat eater (I know you are Lewisja), but I can shoot pretty good and I am not a vegetarian, just don't like the taste much, and survival skills are long ago learned, Yeah, I guess I could do alright. I'd be willing to bet you'd have even less hassle than me.
Hey!!! We could kidnap Lady Widow, and Lady Crowe and disappear into the wilderness,(like say the Bob Marshall wilderness) and they'd have to work to find us - even with satellite tracking. Of course, that wilderness is known to be one of the roughest left in the country we could get lost.. sounds even better the more I go on about it!!!!!!lol
Re: Turkey Run State Park, Indiana
Long term just means you have more time to deal with the situation! lol
If you mean we get along as well as we do is because we both want to assault these two ladies in intimate ways then, Yeah, there can be no doubt, we have similiar interests!!!!!!
Re: Turkey Run State Park, Indiana, addendum!

I'll wait patiently.....
toe tapping, waiting, turns on the radio.....more patient waiting........hmmmmmmmm......waiting..............................................................still waiting.................................
