The War and All the Elders Need to Know!
All of this information applies to ANYONE who was here post-Genil war. Not just elders, but elders are required to read it.
The War as it Happened
About one year before the war occured, Crystal disappeared from the Council of elders without a word. The Council was thrown into an uproar, and without a head of the table, was unable to operate effectively. They bickered and fought, angrily wanting their way to work. They knew of an oncoming war, but they all had different ideas of stopping it.. and nobody knew how to bend for the others, so they all failed to come up with anything in the end. Where did your council member stand as the war was closing in? Did you want to wage war before they came? Build a wall? Ready a protective army? Ask the mage-folk to hide Genil away forever from the sight of any who had not yet set foot inside her walls?
When the war happened, many of the elders fled. Power to you if you have a character that ran away--that shows you can play a character with true personality. 6 out of the twelve elders AT LEAST fled. So guys, create characters that aren't flat, all-powerful asses that never sense fear. These people were coming to rape and kill you, to rip you apart and hurt you. Maybe you had people you thought of as family that you had to get out, and they were more prioritized than the city itself. You didn't stay here. It's been written already into the story. Morrigan was the only one here.
The war lasted 8 months, and this is 5 years after the war, and you are in the heart of Genil, the broken city. The people hate you because you fled, or they hate you because you stayed.. either way, the people hate you. No council member is liked by Genil, because they are blamed for the destruction of the city. You're only welcome here because people aren't gutsy enough to say it to your face, because they know they are out of line. How do you feel about that? Did you want to be their saviour? Do you blame yourself? Do you blame the other council members for stopping your plans? Create different character ideas, guys! Strong roleplaying is demonstrated by weaknesses and flaws and how you play them!
The Elders
You have to understand the other elders and how they acted with one another to be a part of the group. I'd suggest HIGHLY PMing or IMing each and every elder on the board and asking them about their character and how you'd fit with them before posting your character. If you don't know how you acted with them, you aren't really in the story. You gotta figure it out. READ what you can. KNOW all you can.
Morrigan Aensland
The youngest of the elders, but the most experienced in the implementation of power. She was the dictator of a country for over a thousand years before she died. None of the other elders know why as of yet except Nuki, because nobody has determined a positive relationship with her. For the most part, she doesn't have positive relationships with other elders, so you can safely bet that she probably didn't get along with you. She CONSISTANTLY teasted Crystal, and ALWAYS caused trouble. She supported waging war before war was waged on them.
Nuki Clyn Clie
One of the middle elders, Nuki has the appearance of a 13-year-old girl, and is therefore hard to take seriously. Her mind is sharp, though, and her thoughts on strategy are not to be messed with. By the way, to prove you read this, put "I read the Information" in your application at the very bottom. If you don't, we'll send you back. She referred to Morrigan as an older sister, but had no particular distastes for anyone to note. (You can develop with her by PMing Jugguru--so you and she might not have gotten along) She always has a small, oboxious fire sprite that plays the lute around her. It's like her guardian spirit, and never leaves her side.
Kentaro Maeda
When it all boils down to it, Kentaro is full of hatred and rage. However, he also knows the other emotions, and strives for happiness and love. He fears getting close to individuals, on an emotional basis. He believes himself incapable of loving simply because of what he is. However, he has survived this long without love. What's another 3 centuries?
The real aspects of Kentaro's personality depends on what side he is playing. He has two sides that he plays most frequently. First, and most known, is his role as one of the 12 elders. He takes his duties very seriously and usually puts everything else on second priority to his duties to Genil. He does his best to keep the peace. But he will not hesitate to go to war if it means defending the city.
Crystal Dinaia
The most important of the elders, Crystal is the focal point. She got along with everyone at least in some fashion, if only that they respected her authority. Not physically powerful, nor particularly intimidating, Crystal has a force of charisma that makes her the center of the council. Without her, nobody cooperates. With Crystal, they are united.. without, divided.
Lumen Atra
(Deceased? Run away?)
Lumen is elegant, in a masculine sort of way, giving the impress that he "belongs" wherever he is at the time, and an air about him that gives the impression that, despite belonging, he was a little above it all, unfazed in some ways. He tends to be calm, cool, and collected, but has a more extreme side of emotions in certain circumstances.
His attitude to other people tends to portray indifference when it comes to strangers that he passes by, but his caring heart eats at him when people in need talk to him or come to him for help or advice. Lumen finds it difficult to turn anybody away, even if helping somebody else means sacrificing something of himself.
Koltana
Koltana is a kind, generous, soft-spoken individual with a love for life, nature, and the well-being of others. Almost never have people heard him raise his voice..
A soft smile always seems present on his lips and he cares greatly for equality, though to some outsiders to his culture, they may not interpret his thoughts as such. He is a firm believer in working with your strengths and showing who you are through those strengths. "Trying to be something you are not will only bring hardships on yourself that could otherwise be avoided. Why worry about things that were not meant for you?" This isn't to be confused with an order to give up on what you believe you can accomplish or enjoy just because you are not good at it--his culture just speaks in riddles; or so he's learned to excuse himself through.
Kro Kurita
(Outcast/Runaway)
As would be understood, given her age, Kro is an extremely cultured woman. Well versed in numerous traditions, customs, and languages, she is more than capable of conversing on any number of subjects.
While she is usually calm and collected, Kro does have a more fierce side to her. This facet of her personality, however, is rarely shown, and is difficult to provoke.
