Appearance:

Two!

It’s a fairly good challenge to look at Nagendra and not end up gawking at the rather outlandish looking snake man. His head is board and square, giving it a very distinct boa-like shape. The eyes are often half open, lazily taking in his surroundings. The pupils of his eyes are silted, like those of a snake and the irises completely eclipse the rest cornea with a deep amber color. Nagendra’s mouth is only an amused silt on his face with a small phantom goatee just below it. The naga’s ears remain human and often large, thick hoop earrings can be seen hanging from them. His hair seems to be made up of a mass of snake tails, trailing down to his lower back. They all vary in color and pattern. They seem to move at times, every so slightly.

Nagendra’s torso is often bare, leaving his swimmer’s lean build exposed. The naga’s hands are large with long clawed fingers. He often uses slow languid gestures with them while speaking. From there the 20 foot long tail begins. It shifts around behind him slowly and he seems to move in a lazy grace around crowds and objects, though most give him space to move once they catch notice of him. Nagendra’s skin is cool to the touch and scaled in a few hues, mostly gray, black and deep shades of chestnut. The tip of his tail does have a fair amount of rustic red in it.

The naga’s speaking voice is very much like his mannerisms; slow, lazy and dripping with a sensual undercurrent. Nagendra moves like one would expect a snake to. His massive 20 foot tail shifts around the most complex of areas, skirting and evading the occasional trip or slip of bipedal movement. But at times, the naga just curls up around himself, growing completely motionless. The stillness can be unsettling at times but, as quickly as it comes he animates once more. For being such a massive creature, he tends to move around quietly and with a certain degree of stealth. Perhaps it’s his cool body temperature or the quiet grace in which he moves through the sands of Anarab.

Personality:

For being such an interesting looking creature, Nagendra is a notorious flirt. Perhaps it was the time he spent as a stripper in life, or maybe the naga just has a knack for it. He does not flirt with just words, but in the way he says things, the way he moves. The women (and the occasional man) thus far love his teasing, despite his snakelike appearance. He seems to thrive on making the most up tight or closed off female blush. It seems to be the most natural way the naga communicates with others. But for all his teasing and flirting, Nagendra doesn’t have much interest in sex or the fairer sex.

In life, the naga was a quick and observant man. Little has changed since he died. He constantly questions the how and why of things, a scholar at heart. He loves his books, but is denied since his eye sight is very poor. So until Nagendra can obtain a pair of spectacles, he has settled for listening and observing the strange natives of Anarab. He’s learned many things by simply paying attention to the daily qualms of the citizens of the sands. Through his observations, he’s learned when people lie and when they are hiding anger and other such emotions. It is an imperfect art, but it’s most useful on those who have trouble keeping their emotions in check.

When Nagendra first came to this new world, he was disoriented and confused. His very human mind simply could not register that he had been transformed into a monster. So, it shut itself down and locked his consciousness away. For almost 15 years, the snake ruled the man, living as a snake would. Things like money and things of material value became useless to him, food and water more precious than gold in his eyes. Once he was brought to the carnival and reintroduced into human interaction, his mind eventually began to surface. Now the naga comes off as a bit strange, a bit more feral than the average human, but a human nonetheless. He’s developed strange habits since his return to the civilized world such as, sitting completely still for hours on end, using his hands to eat any and all foods, a general habit of accidentally sneaking up on people and other such idiosyncrasies. The necessities of life, food, water, shelter, still hold a much greater priority than material wealth or gain to him making him seem all the more strange.

For all of his quirks and hang ups, if there is one thing Nagendra is excellent at, it’s surviving. He’s always loved the outdoors and in death he spent about 15 years surviving in the desert sands. Out in the desert he learned to he learned to make due with the limited resources available. He had to learn to use his new found senses to find water and food. During the hottest time of the day he would bury himself to seek shelter beneath the cooler sands. He was quick to discover how to evade some of the larger predators that haunted the desert sands. Becoming a naga-like creature has only enhanced his resourcefulness. Needless to say, he feels more comfortable outdoors than most people and has a great respect for the balance of nature.
