Role Seeking: Him Character's name: Xanis Sorannan Age Upon Entering/At Death: 26 Age Now: ~326 Race: Folos
The Folos are the rulers and elite on the world of Karnon, composing the upper ruling class and associates. All Folos possess an extremely powerful spirit separate from their body, yet confined to it. They are capable of separating their spirit from their body in order to appear as a spirit to others, or to directly possess others. Almost all possessed beings die after the spirit leaves them, as their original spirit is crushed with the entry of the Folos. They believe that they were created by the number god Otus, son of the high god Tymis, before Tymis banished his son to the nether-regions of the spiritual plane as a punishment for creating the Folos. Legends tell that one day a direct descendant of Otus would be born through two Folos of pure blood, and the perfect mathematical alignment. (The perfect mathematical alignment being a double perfect square number of generations after the creation of the first Folos.) This being was said to have the ability to disappear completely from the physical realm and save Otus from the nether-regions of the spirit world, enabling the Folos to have a world created for themselves and escape the persecution of Tymis. All Folos seek power over others, seeing it as the only way to protect themselves from the machinations of Tymis and his followers.
Appearance: In his physical form, Xanis has features very similar to a Vampire, with white skin, thick black hair that he keeps carefully combed back, pronounced fangs in his mouth and vibrantly colored eyes his right eye is a bright emerald green, while the left is almost entirely a cold ice blue, but a small sliver of blue-green can occasionally be seen in the top half of that eye. He stands at roughly 6'1" and has an overall slender build that deceptively lures opponents into a false sense of confidence. His muscles give him moderate strength, and good speed and dexterity to lend to any tasks presented to him. He more often than not is seen with his sword (Honor) strapped across his back and blends in with the other members of the Schism Saints. His dagger (Treachery) is always strapped to his side for quick access should he be disarmed, and he has never needed to use it in this new life yet, so its presence is unknown to all other than himself. In his former life it was used a total of three times, once to kill his younger brother, once to kill his rival in the 7 Year War, and once to kill every member of a plot to assassinate him.
Personality: Xanis is extremely calculating in his actions, planning things out before they happen as much as possible. He detests surprises with a passion, and makes every attempt to out-think whoever his opponent in any situation. If startled or in terror of losing his life, he will emit an involuntary Spirit Scream (Explained below.) as a defense mechanism. He is extremely secretive and controlling, along with having an emotional swing from paranoia to cool confidence depending on his current stimulations and his mood. As a form of entertainment he delights in causing strife and chaos in the lives of others through either direct physical action or through spiritual tampering. Often he is somewhat distant in conversations due to his mind trying to figure out the intentions of others rather than engaging in the conversation. Due to his past life as an important ruler, he is used to being obeyed without question and has a short temper for those who refuse to follow authority. He is in a constant search to finish his quest for the god Otus and seeks any knowledge on the subject that he can find, even though only a small number of beings from his world have made it to this world of second chances.
Biography: Xanis was born as Xanis Sorannan XVI. As the oldest male child in his family, he inherited the title as ruler of the Tyin Dynasty, and the Tyin Kingdom, one of the most powerful empires on the planet. At the age of 15, his father died and he inherited the kingdom. His parents had always showered upon him the tales of the number god Otus and the fact that the god was to someday be freed by someone of a perfect square, of which he was. (16) Seeking out for knowledge of Otus, he gathered up all of the ancient manuscripts within his influence into a single library complex beneath his castle. In the 2 years following his crowning as King of Tyin he read all of the manuscripts, but rather than finding the hoped-for sense of completion he had expected from reading everything there was, he had more questions than ever before.
Appointing his younger brother Romin to create and organize an army of the finest warriors in Tyin he waited patiently for the completion of that project before calling a massive ceremony in which he sacrificed his brother to Otus, thus freeing his spirit from his body and allowing him to sieze the minds of the entire army without needing to return to his own body, and then Xanis held another ceremony in which his brother's body was preserved and sealed away in the family burial chambers, to await the acquisition of the remainder of a series of scrolls that detailed the ceremonies required for reuniting a body with its spirit after death. With the newly created army, he marched them off into the neighboring kingdoms, conquering the weak kingdoms and gathering all of the knowledge they had not willingly given to him. Only one opponent stood in his way, the powerful Kingdom of Rath.
In a long 7 year struggle from the beginning of his aggressions to the defeat of Rath, Xanis led his armies through many conquests while always adding to his power, and in the final month of the war, arranged a peace meeting with the King of Rath, stabbing him fatally through the heart and then finishing off the remains of that kingdom without the coordination that the King of Rath could always give to his soldiers. Gathering up the last of the scrolls from the now-conquered world, he completed his readings while preparing for a massive ceremony in which he would return his brother to life and transcend both of them to rescue Otus. Word of his plans made it out to the general public, and those members of the army that had not been in the originally-created unit began to speak against him, until eventually an elite sect of 33 warriors was formed to plot the demise of their leader, who they assumed to be insane.
Shortly before the ceremony was set to happen, the 33 warriors snuck into the library complex in the hopes of catching Xanis off-guard and killing him, but when the first assassin stepped out, his Spirit Scream rendered them helpless in the spiritual realm against a much more powerful foe - a pure-blooded Folos. With his dagger he slaughtered every single member of the 33, but in the time of waiting before he could return to his body, the ideal timing for the ceremony came and went. Finally returning to his body exactly 37 minutes after the ceremony should have taken place, he slaughtered the bodies of the 33 and hastily hurried to the temples to perform the ceremony in hopes that it could still work.
In the midst of all of the proceedings, his brother was reincarnated in his body, but due to the ruined timing a piece of him remained forever trapped in the spirit world, steadily driving him insane. 2 weeks after that his insane brother used powers he had discovered in the spirit realm to render Xanis helpless, and sent his entire being into the spirit realm as the prophecies had predicted, but rather than being sent to find and rescue Otus, the powers that had sent him into the spirit realm cast him into the world of second chances.
Among one of the first beings to arrive, he felt others through the spiritual plane during a period of hypersensitvity and due to their inherent light nature, was repulsed and started the city of Nureese, crafting it after his capital in his past life, though as more and more beings arrived the purpose of the place was corrupted and it fell to its present state with Xanis serving the role as Him and legions of minions at his command, as he would lay in wait for a way to escape and continue his quest for Otus.
In recent years, he commanded his legions in a smashing success against the City of Genil with the assistance of forces from the City of Anarab until in a surprising turn of events they were forced back. With increasing dismay, Xanis has watched the Elders rebuild Genil and return to it in the recent years, biding his time and re-building his army.
Powers, if any: Separation Of Self - Can separate his spirit from his body for limited periods of time, appearing to others as a dark shadowy figure anywhere he chooses (Except for areas that are inherently 'good' and repel his dark nature.) In this form he is incapable of affecting the physical world directly, and must rely on his powers of suggestion to convince others to do his bidding. In this form, he is capable of doing battle with other spiritual beings. (ie: Other Folos while he was on his home world.)
Possession - Can send his spirit to inhabit the body of another, weaker being. When in the new body, he has complete control of their actions and the main indicator of a possessed body is an unnatural red glow to their eyes. When he ends the possession or his concentration is broken the possessed body dies more often than not due to the original spirit being shattered by his entry. Survivors are very rare, and in a survival state where they only go about daily actions and have no inner thoughts, ready to act as an extension of his will should he ever choose to command them. (No survivors reported to this date.)
Mass Control - Can influence large groups of beings through the spiritual realm, though not directly controlling any single being, he controls emotions and impulses, creating an almost irresistable desire to follow his will. (The method of control used to keep the Schism Saints in order.) When using this power, his body will be in a meditative state and he will be able to perceive the thoughts and emotions of all under his influence, but may not directly communicate with anyone.
Spirit Scream - An involuntary reflex that occurs when he is seriously startled by something, or in complete fear for his life. It causes his spirit and all others near his body (Hence whoever surprised him, usually.) to be ripped out of their bodies and cast into the spiritual realm. In that state he is almost always the one with the upper hand and can defeat anything that would have been a threat to his safety, or after a certain period of time all spirits will be returned to their bodies. For the time that the spirits are disembodied, they can not use any other powers, and their bodies are temporarily impervious to damage until the spirit is returned. Any others who come near the bodies affected by the Spirit Scream are also affected, even after the actual event. The usual time period before the spirits and bodies may re-unite is 1 hour.
Weapons, if any: 1 sword (Named Honor.), and 1 dagger (Named Treachery.). Additional information: He is left-handed, but capable of doing all activities to some degree of proficiency with his right hand, some more than others. He keeps his left-handedness a closely guarded secret to surprise opponents in combat. He especially likes cheesecake.

I'm impressed! You took my premise, ran with it, and made a completely original character that I didn't see coming. Very nice, very nice! We look forward to seeing you play here at Second Chances. Maybe we can all get together in the chat sometime soon and talk about plot possibilities.
