Paul 'Pream' Sherilk
Well, I'm willing to try out this RP again. I remember playing a character named Kael here. Pity I lost the char application of him, I rather liked him but I've forgotten alot of his info . Which reminds me, I'll need my previous title removed.
Well, this is a revamp of a character I tried out but barely RPed with him before I left.
Name: Ivo Contact information: diasivo (AT) hotmail . com
Character's name: Paul 'Pream' Sherilk Age Upon Entering/At Death: Unsure, at least 300 Age Now: At least 309 Race: Human Hybrid (genetically modified and enhanced with genetic material of other species)
Appearance:
Fiery red waist-length hair, bright green eyes actually verging on the fluorescent green side and facial features generally considered handsome constitute his face, along with a white star-shaped tattoo with his right eye at its centre. He is approximately 5’9” tall and his skin is somewhat tanned. It is unclear whether this is his original appearance; he sure as hell hasn’t confirmed or denied it and rumours also abound that it is not even what he currently truly looks like, but then, that’s a bit relative for him.
He is also able to change clothing at a whim, but he usually wears rather mundane clothes, at least mundane for his homeworld, a white t-shirt, black jeans and dark grey boots. He also usually wears a black leather trenchcoat. Again, he can change his clothing, so it’s not a guarantee he’ll always be wearing the same clothes.
Still, something in his demeanour, the way he carries himself, and in his eyes seems to suggest that there may be more to him than meets the eye. The rumours certainly exist, at least between those that know of him. And then there's the fact that he is oddly always overly careful of people or even objects at his back or of people invading his personal space...
Personality:
Paul, or Pream to those he doesn’t consider as good friends, is usually a quiet person, calculating and can be considered somewhat cold regarding certain aspects, in particular death. Well, not cold exactly, more like apathic, emotionless, some would call him, though practical is another term that could be used for him. He just doesn’t view death in the same way most tend to do nor cares much about it unless it’s someone dear to him. This mostly regards to those who are never more than acquaintances with him at best, enemies at worst. Once you get to know him, however, he warms up and can sometimes be something of a flirt with beautiful women. He is loyal and, in contrast to his usual demeanour, surprisingly emotional with those who manage to make friends with him, though, and he tries to help those he thinks could use his help. Piss him off, though, and he can be quite cruel. Overall, silent, practical and methodical, though loyal, caring and friendly are words that can describe him. Though he generally tries to do good, he is somewhat cynical of the world and sees the world as various shades of gray. One major ‘weak’ point for him that ignores these rules, however, is small children. He’s easily seen smiling when there are happy children around and is quick to help any in trouble.
Biography:
Born Paul Sherilk on modern-day Earth, the unthinkable happened to him around the age of 20-something: he was abducted by aliens. This far more technologically advanced race had actually come from another galaxy and a ship of theirs was visiting the Milky Way, secretly collecting sentient specimens from this galaxy and Paul had been the designated human specimen from Earth they had decided on.
He is unsure of what has happened to him exactly during that time, and how long it was. All he remembers of that period are the horrific experiments performed on him, even to the point of messing with his genes, and the unbelievable pain, not to mention the mind-breaking experience. There was not even any rest for him since as soon as a set of experiments on him were done, he was put into a state of stasis, to be taken out only when more experiments were to be done on him. He also knows that he was taken over to the aliens’ home galaxy and from there, traded over to many unscrupulous scientists of other races.
In the end, though, he was lucky. What was being done to him was, thankfully, highly illegal and immoral to the galactic government of whatever galaxy he then was in, and eventually one scientist slipped up and was arrested. As for Paul, his DNA structure had been so altered, not to mention that he was psychologically broken, beyond the galactic government’s races’ ability to repair. Curious as to what he was and with no other recourse, they decided to give him for healing/repair/restructuring to another race, one that was, if possible, even more technologically superior than the others, the I’lthirl’k (actual pronunciation impossible by humans, except Pream, though “Il-Shirk” comes close). The catch was that this race had their independent empire and, once given to them, they could to him whatever they wanted.
Fortunately for Paul, the I’lthirl’k were not only highly advanced but extremely peaceful and caring so they helped him. However, even they couldn’t fully heal Paul and he couldn’t be taken out of the stasis tube he was in since, in the state that he was, he’d quickly die. Faced with a doomed patient, they performed upon him an experiment, one that they had never dared do before, unsure of the consequences. Using their most cutting edge technology and genetic knowledge, they injected nanites into Paul’s system and linked them to him (to sum it all up in simple words), altering him further to ensure the making of this link. Against all odds, Paul survived the process and the result was that the nanites could do what the I’lthirl’k could not and ensured Paul’s survival.
Thus, Paul awoke in a strange new world, as the first ever and only (to his knowledge and the galaxy he was on) nano-cyborg. The I’lthirl’k named him Pream, though he knows not the meaning of the word. He found his mind had information that he would not normally know or even be possible to contain so much, if not for the nanites. He could speak every known language the I’lthirl’k had come across, all his senses as well as strength, speed and agility were enhanced to superhuman levels, the nanites provided him with an incredible regeneration system, making him virtually immortal. Most amazing of all, he found that with a thought he could have the nanites create anything he wanted, as long as he knew how to make it and how they should work and had the skill and concentration to ‘guide’ the nanites in building whatever it was on an atomic level.
Of course, there was a limit to his abilities. The nanites couldn’t actually just create stuff out of thin air. They needed materials. His nanites could dismantle anything, though, down to the most basic of atoms and store them as super-concentrated material bars which could be stored within Pream’s body or anywhere else he wanted. The nanites could use absolutely ANYTHING for building materials, from his own excretions (sweat included), to other beings and any external material he came across (plants, buildings, any object, etc.).
Pream lived among the I’lthirl’k for only a short while, learning about his new abilities. All the genetic tampering he’d been subjected too, including the I’lthirl’k adding their own genetic make-up to him, changed not only his true form but gave him psionic abilities such as telekinesis and telepathy, for which he was told he had great potential, if he applied himself to them. Finally, though, the call of home was too strong and he decided to leave. Given a ship, he departed and left the alien galaxy. Or at least, he tried to. In the midst of his voyage, he got too close to a black hole and fell within it. Next thing he knew, he was on another planet, unharmed (although that one didn’t surprise him). He is unclear whether he died or not. He’d probably agree with that if not for the fact that he woke up inside the ship he had left in, which had obviously crashed on the planet.
Since arriving in this strange new world, and unable to escape it for the moment, Paul has made a life training his combat skills with a few willing soldiers and weapons and martial arts masters and mostly exploring the world and its wild places, surviving on the wild animals and the riches he sometimes encountered. He's made contacts and acquaintances, some even friends, both in high and in low places. He has recently decided to return to the city of Genil to see how he could be of help in its rebuilding.
Powers, if any:
- Ability to create objects, thanks to his nanites - currently limited to only simpler objects like swords, some minor technological advancements for such melee weapons and maybe a few simple devices but nothing nowhere even near a common Earth slug-thrower gun, let alone complex alien technology
- Regeneration, both because of genetic manipulation and his nanites - high level of regeneration, possibly even able to survive decapitation
- Telepathy - great potential but currently poor training
- Telekinesis - great potential but currently only has what might be described as an 'adequate' grasp of it
- Enhanced strength, agility, speed, hearing and sight
- Enhanced sight includes night vision and telescopic vision
Weapons, if any: One longsword, two daggers, all made of a diamond alloy and diamond-tipped
Additional information:
Paul possesses a small, intradermal holo-emitter located on top of his left shoulder.
