Re: The Land Outside the Biodome
The Nazgul moved and parried with his strange grace, and hissed angrily at Aearlin, furious at being matched blade to blade---

"You---will------die!" he snarled, and feinted away easily-- but his enemy's skill was far more than he had anticipated--

"You--cannot--kill--us!" the Wraith hissed, and slashed at Aearlin savagely, the deadly morgul sword carrying a threat far worse than mere mortal pain.

And he stopped suddenly-- and moved back---

"The Master----where is----the Master?"

His only task was to find Sauron-- long gone Sauron-- and bring him back to the Nazgul Lord.

The Ulairi growled and circled them---

"Where is he?"

Re: The Land Outside the Biodome
Silinde watched in horror as his lover ran to the wraith, matching blow to blow. He could do nothing now but wait until Aearlin needed him to intercept or help. He kept his gaze fixed on the battle, hoping that somehow they would claim victory.

The wraith continued his efforts to destroy them, and hissed questions of his master. Who could they be looking for...Melkor? But they would have already had contact with him. Silinde searched his mind for the answer, and then realized it was none other than.....Saruon.

Re: The Land Outside the Biodome
Where was... who? The Master?

It had to be Sauron.

The fact that they were sent to find the Dark Lord actually lightened Aearlin's heart. Melkor without Sauron was like clouds with no rain - a breath of relief. Granted, Melkor was more dangerous than Sauron, easily. But without Sauron, they knew Melkor's heart (so to speak) would not be in it.

He pushed again and again at the Morgul Lord's blade, the sound of the two metals clashing ringing in his ears. "I know not where your Master is, nor do I care. Be gone from this land, foul creature! Your Master is not here, nor has he been. Your filth is not wanted here!" And there he struck once more, his aim growing more lethal with each turn, aiming for the head now. The head, where Eowyn struck.

"We may not be able to kill you, detestible wraith, but we can certainly make your existance a nightmare!" Perhaps they could get some fire? Fire would surely drive the horrible once-man away, wouldn't it?

"Silinde! Find some wood and start a fire while I hold this atrocity at bay. We'll give him something to play with, if that's what he wants!"

"They danced in the water,
They danced in the fire,
They danced upon the stony ground, with palms turned to the sky." -Cxs

Re: The Land Outside the Biodome
"Where is he?" the Wraith repeated, mindless and furious---

he lashed out again and again with the blade--

---and then--as suddenly as he began--he ceased--and withdrew.

the Lord was not here.

They seemed to know nothing.

He did not have time for this--all he yearned for--all he was commanded to do-- was to find

-----him.

he turned, and glided back to his badly wounded mount, and without another word or assault, he lifted off, the creature screaming as its wings strained to move--- and the Ulairi took to the forbidding skies again, leaving them to ponder the sudden chaos and horror.

Re: The Land Outside the Biodome
Silinde ran to fetch wood for a fire so that they may light the nazgul and drive him away. Suddenly the sound of metal stopped, and Silinde froze. He desperately wanted to turn around and be reassured that his lover was standing, but fear held him in place. If Aearlin was injured, or worse killed, Silinde would go mad. It seemed like an eternity before Silinde mustered up the courage to turn around, and then he heard the foul beast scream and he spun around, his golden locks flying around him. What he saw was pure relief, and he ran to his lover's side, watching the wraith and his beast leaving. Once out of sight, Silinde gathered his beloved Aerlin, lavishly bestowing kiss after kiss.

Re: The Land Outside the Biodome
He frowned as the Wraith pulled back... retreated... and left him standing - sword still at the ready - panting and waiting for that final attack.

It never came. He'd not even a moment's breath to recover before Silinde had tackled him, collecting him up and kissing him (it would seem) wherever his lips could reach. And he did collapse against his lover, boneless from the sudden shock of actually fighting one of those souless, foul creatures. As the kisses continued to rain upon him, he slowly came to his senses, kissing back after the first half dozen or so, though weakly.

"Apparently, wraiths are easily turned aside... if you're not what they're after... " A very pathetically tired sounding comment, and only half true. The wraith had put up a very good fight, despite Aearlin's comments to the contrary, and the fact that neither of the two elves had been what the creature was after.

"They're trying to find Sauron..."

Re: The Land Outside the Biodome
Silinde failed to hear anything his lover had to say. At the moment, his only concern was that his beloved Aearlin was well. The fear in his heart only moments ago was still all to real to the Mirkwood warrior.

Once satisfied, Silinde reluctantly let him go, glancing over his lover to make sure there were no scratches that needed tended. Relief shown brightly in Sil's blue eyes, but saddened when he noticed the fatigue. "Forgive me melleth nin", and placed a chaste kiss to his sweat covered forehead. "Would you like some water?" Yes, now that the wraith had left, Aearlin could try to rest some before they headed out to the biodome. But before Silinde turned to get some water for his beloved, he remembered what Aearlin said. "Sauron? They're looking for Sauron? Ai Elbereth! What have we gotten ourselves into this time!"

Re: The Land Outside the Biodome
Aearlin had certainly faced worse in his life. But not nearly as nerve-wracking as a Wraith. There was something about them... their dark cloaks... faceless... it just chilled one to the core. The water his lover fetched him was received with gratitude, and he drank deeply before offering his lover a more reassuring smile.

"Yes, Sauron. But the fact they haven't found him bodes well for us. It means that Melkor's attention will be focused on -that- for a short while longer at the very least. Pleanty of time to get to the biodome and train some humans."

And learn the laws of the land in this day and age....

Re: The Land Outside the Biodome
That wonderful smile. What a sight it was to Silinde's poor fearful heart. That one smile filled his heart with so much relief, and only now did he truely believe his lover was indeed all right.

Silinde listened to Aearlin's views on the missing Sauron, and he could only agree. "I believe you are right melleth, and I guess that means we should make haste." He took the cup from his lover's slender fingers, and returned to the tent to begin packing their belongings.

Within seconds, his blonde lover was at his side, packing as well. Once all was packed and ready to go, Silinde looked at the tent with a puzzled expression. "I believe you brought that thing, so I give you the great pleasure of taking it down." And with that, the first sounds of laughter since their battle with the wraith. Light, joyful laughter, that had Silinde bent over, holding his sides. Yes, he would make it through, as long as he had his life, his Aearlin at his side.:glomp

Re: The Land Outside the Biodome
Once Aearlin's nerves were all back to normal and his cup of water was taken away, he took a deep, refreshing breath. Their first battle, however short it might have been, was over. They were safe for the time being.

A startled glance was given to his lover at the comment about him packing their tent back up, and he gifted the impish elf before him with a sour expression, though it melted quickly into laughter.

"You are so very funny, Silinde... but yes, I will take it down. We might need it later, anyway...." And so he set to work once the tent was empty, pulling the poles down and removing the stakes before rolling it all up in a surprisingly small bundle, and stuffing it all into his pack. "Shall we proceed onward? We might be able to get to the biodome by nightfall if we don't stop for too long."

Re: The Land Outside the Biodome
Silinde agreed. He had no desire to face another wraith or anything else for that matter. He actually just wanted to get this whole blasted trip over so he could spend his time loving Aearlin. So together, hand in hand, they journeyed through the sandy terrain.

Silinde took in his surroundings, and thought how beautiful this place probably was before. Now the native trees were brown with decay, their leaves rotting on the very sand they were walking on. “So much evil…even now after all the ages. Once again we find ourselves fighting the same foe. Why do the Valar even allow this?” The Mirkwood blonde shook his head, thinking back to all the battles they had fought, how much evil they had defeated, and wondered to himself would it ever end. Could they ever truly be at peace.
