Roleplaying Rules
ROLEPLAYING RULES

Here at StarWars Revelations, role-playing is done in a play by post system. To limit confusion when reading a post, players use a third person perspective.

We abide by the 72 hour post rule. If the other party of a roleplay does not respond to your post within 72 hours, you may continue without them, or "write them out" of the story. However, you must respect a LOA(leave of absense) if one is posted.

There is no required post length at Revelations. We just ask that a player post enough to convey their whereabouts, and any other necessary information.

GODMODING

Godmoding is defined as giving your character(s) an unfair and unrealistic advantage. It includes, but is not limited to, the following:

1. Using any knowledge not gained through normal RPing. IE: Using out of character knowledge on an in character basis.

2. Writing for another character without expressed permission.

3. Refusing to take damage in an attack or duel.

4. KILLING, MAIMING, OR OTHERWISE HARMING ANOTHER CHARACTER WITHOUT THAT CHARACTER’S CONSENT Consent must be given in an OOC thread related to the RP in question.

5. Using weapons, equipment, or powers in an RP that your character is not skilled enough, or trained to use.

6. Using loopholes in the rules to your advantage.

FLAMING

Flaming is derogatory posts/remarks about any other member. This leads to fights. SUCH POSTS AND BEHAVIOR WILL NOT BE TOLERATED AT REVELATIONS. The staff will enforce this rule strictly.

PUNISHMENTS

Revelations runs on a strike system. This is how it works:

Strike One: The user will be warned and the posts with infractions edited to correct the error(s).

Strike Two: The user will be banned for 3 days.

Strike Three: The user will be banned indefinitely.

The staff reserves the right to write-out any permanently banned member from the story. At Revelations we punish the person, not the character. Bans will be done by IP # and email address, not by account.

At any time the Staff feels it is warranted, they may disregard the 3 strike rule and issue the neccessary punishment.

PROBLEMS

The staff realizes that problems will arise. If you are involved in such an incident, it should be reported to the staff immediately in the proper forum.

GROUPS/FACTIONS

NO NEW MEMBER MAY START A FACTION UNTIL THEY HAVE ACTIVELY BEEN AT REVELATIONS FOR 60 DAYS.

Each group must consist of three different people. IP #'s will be checked. To become a group at Revelations, the three members must post requesting membership. They must also state which planet they want as a base, one that is not currently controlled by another faction. A link to a faction board must also be provided. Once these requirements are met, the group will be added to the links at the bottom of the board. Each group will be given any one planet they want as a base. Any other planets wanted must be RP'd out in a planetary takeover.

In the interest of faction growth, groups may not be attacked until they have either existed in the galaxy for 4 months or go to their third planetary takeover. Whichever one comes first.

Any faction that has no activity for more than 30 days will be removed from the faction listing. They may request to be placed on the list again within 60 days. If a faction has no activity for more than 60 days, they must once again meet the necessary requirements for a faction and be active for two months before they will be added back to the list as an official faction.

THE ONLY FORCE-ADEPT FACTIONS AT REVELATIONS WILL BE JEDI AND SITH.

FLEETING

Fleeting at StarWars Revelations uses a Real Time building concept. Read the Ship Construction rules for details.

PERSONAL VESSELS

Personal ships are allowed, as long as they are no larger than a YT-1300 freighter.

DEATH STARS AND SUNCRUSHERS ARE BANNED AT REVELATIONS

CLOAKING TECHNOLOGY IS BANNED AT REVELATIONS.

TAKEOVER

Planetary Takeover threads of uncontrolled planets must consist of at least 5,000 words and a minimum of 5 posts.

To take over a controlled planet, it must consist of at least 5,000 words and you must allow representatives of the faction to defend their planet. The decision of whom defeats whom must be decided by the two parties involved. Staff will not become involved in the decision unless necessary.

Once a Takeover is completed, a request must be made in the appropriate forum to add it to the faction's list. A link to the RP must be provided. A staff member will read the RP, verifying that it has the required words.

To allow the growth of new factions, no group is allowed to take the BASE or "starting" planet, of another group. The planet may be attacked, but not taken.

A group may not start another planetary takeover until the one they are currently involved in is finished.

FORCE USERS

All new force-adept members begin as a Padawan(or equivalent ranking).

To become a Padawan: You must approach the Force Faction of your choice: Jedi or Sith. Once you are accepted into a faction, you will be granted the rank of Padawan.

"Shadow" and "Rogue" Jedi do not exist at Revelations.

Promotion will be determined by the individual organizations(Jedi and Sith). However, a few basic rules will be followed:

To become a Knight(or equivalent):

At least 3 months in the Revelations galaxy is required.
A training thread with a Master.
2 duels proving you are capable.

To become a Master(or equivalent):

At least 6 months in the Revelations galaxy is required.
RPs that prove you are on par with other Masters of the Revelations galaxy.

Star Wars Revelations will use the following "titles" for Force-Adepts.

Jedi:

Padawan
Knight
Master

Sith:

Apprentice
Marauder
Lord

If it is determined that a group is promoting users before they are ready, the staff will revoke the faction's right to promote users.

Regarding Force users coming from other sites: At Revelations, we understand that those coming from other sites who have already completed training, may not want to start over. We will accept links to training threads or RPs that show a definite knowledge of RPing as a Force User. The threads will be examined by a Master or the Faction you wish to join. If, however, the threads no longer exist, you will have to start over.
