Jeanie soft, caring expression turned into a glare. "Fine then," she shot back. "Forget it. Forget I ever asked or cared."
She turned away from Jamie and left the room, walking down the stairs.

Jeanie didn't hear Jamie and continued to leave the house. She opened the door and then closed it softly. She continued down to the barn and to Chestnut's stall. She saw her father standing outside his stall.
"What's his name?" she asked her father as he wrapped an arm around her shoulder.
"Saratoga Sting," Kevin replied.
Jeanie nodded. "Cool." She looked at the horse, who had his ears flicking back and forth, trying to figure out where to put them. He finally decided to place one back, one forward. His face was hard to read.
The big horse took a step towards Jeanie, his head down. Kevin almost moved her out of the way, but Jeanie stood her ground and approached the stall. Saratoga Sting put his head over the stall door and reached for Jeanie's hair, lipping it. She laughed and moved his head away.
"Such a lovely boy," she murmured. She swung around and faced her father. "Can I please work with him?" She gave him a pleading face.
Kevin sighed. "Alright," he said.
