Re: GAME 3/23
Exactly -- in most cases I've heard about -- once folks here meet face to face, all that BS goes out the window and they sit together at future games. And trust me folks, Shady is just about the easiest person to find cuz he doesn't budge from his seat at the Hideout. Send an email or PM and I don't doubt he'll disclose his whereabouts. When we went it was generally Section X, unless some vendor from work bought large group tickets than it's anybody's guess where we ended up. Next year ~~ I'm out of it unless they're freebies and those are random as well. If we don't get new owner in Angelo, just doubt we'll go to many games.

Re: GAME 3/23
Yep, anyone is welcome to come see me. Like she said I don't like walking around during games. If I had walked by you or saw you guys near me I would have said something.
Re: San Angelo
Here you are…San Angelo fans, on our board, cheering on the Buzzards, on our board, defending them like devoted fans, but won’t go to your own home games unless you get freebies to the games!?! Way to support your own team! You think you are accomplishing something important by pointing out that there were very few posts, on our board, after being outscored by El Paso in the first game. It is no secret that you dislike the Jackalopes, the fans of the Jackalopes who do pay for their tickets to every games and are proud to do so, and Odessa/Midland in general. You are certainly entitled to your opinions and prejudices and to post them on our board. But just so you know, we have a strong backbone and what you say doesn't really bother us. So basically your posting is futile. Fact is San Angelo is not in the playoffs and you hate that we are. Dispute that if you will, but it is pretty obvious. Whether we advance beyond the first round of the playoffs or not…we went! There are many teams that did not advance, but their fans are handling the situation with much more dignity than you. Case being the Lubbock fans. Many of them were at the Jack Shack on Friday and Saturday, in their own team jerseys, and we all had a great time. You have your own board on which to post and El Paso has a board also available for posting, and they would appreciate knowing that you are supporting them in their playoff effort. They have proven that they are a team worthy of being in the playoffs. If you wish to continue exhibiting immaturity and child like behavior on our board, you are entitled to do that as well. We will see which road you decide to take.
Re: San Angelo
Sorry...but I have to GOT to compiment Axejacque on that last post. I think it was VERY well said and to the point!! I am a Kings fan, but I was at the games as well. Yes, we all got along and had a great time. And there's no secret to the *feelings* between Lubbock and Odessa on the ice! All i can say is "why can't we just all get along"
Re: San Angelo
Thank you justme. Oh by the way, my husband visited with Brent Scott after the game Saturday and he said that the lake levels are up. So you San Angelo fans go relax and do some fishing.

Re: San Angelo
Well, I'm not rooting for El Paso or anyone else in the playoffs. Heck, if there's any team I'd like to win, it would be Austin. And I picked them to lose in the first round.
I'm glad Odessa is in the playoffs, and wish that we were. I'd like to play Odessa. And I haven't noticed people being bitter about us not making it. We are continuing to support our team. The way to do that right now is to find ways to make sure we keep our team and get new owners. I know of at least 5-10 people who have written to the Standard-Times about the situation and probably quite a bit more. And a lot of people it seems are writing the city and league about it.
You are proud to buy tickets for all the games you say. Great. Here, we aren't so proud to buy tickets. Not because we don't support the team but it's very hard to in good conscience continue to put money in the pockets of the Moores. Literally hundreds of people who used to attend games don't go anymore because of that, and many businesses won't because it's too hard to work with them. If we can get them out in time we've got ownership ready to take over immediately, and you'll see a return of sponsors and fans. You guys have had a model award winning franchise for 5 years. No negative publicity. And except for the first year have always had a great team. Plus about 2 1/2 times the population to draw from than SA. So you've had everything in your favor for success and no reason not to support them.
Despite all that- As far as numbers and attendance are concerned we DO draw as well as you. Not in the official stats but if the Outlaws had padded them the way other teams do, when it comes to actual butts in the seats this year we probably had as many.
Other than maybe Ian, I'm not sure where anyone has acted childish in this thread or forum. So don't lump us all together please.
San Angelo "Moore-On's"
this sounds too much like what is happning here in lubbock. The more i hear the more scared i get about what is going to happen to the kings ovr the next year...or as long as "god" is in charge. Would you let us know how to rid ourselves of higher-up pests if you achieve it?

Re: San Angelo "Moore-On's"
Hey AJ -- I'm the only who said I won't go NEXT SEASON unless it's free. I paid this year albeit the last game we attended. So don't take that out on other posters. And if you read my posts thoroughly -- I also said I took the Jacks to win the entire the thing. I've never said I supported the Buzzards. I have NO issues with Jacks fans off the boards and I expect a little harassment when a visitor in other barns.
The water levels may be up but with the lake dredging still unsettled and the Concho not yet stocked.....fishing isn't much of an option. Golf might be a better choice.
I live in my own little world. That's okay, they know me here.
Re: San Angelo
The childish behavior I am referring to extends far beyond this thread and yes you are included Shady12. Let me refresh your memory from your very own posts. About the jackrabbit you ran over and it just gave you so much pleasure and joy because it reminded you of killing a jackalope. How about the negative comment when Hillman was honored with the man of the year award. “UTPB..hmm, does he plan a career in the peanut butter industry after hockey? I hear most Jif and Peter Pan workers graduate from UTPB. Pretty impressive having such a fine institution of higher learning in the Petroplex area.” That statement was totally out of line and unnecessary for that thread. There was no need for those kinds of insults against a player who gives with as much heart as he does.
I really don’t care about your attendance rate at your coliseum. I certainly agree with you on your point about putting money in the Moores’ pocket. I wouldn’t want them to have my money either. But you must also remember that without your monetary support, the players don’t get paid, staff members don’t get paid, bills don’t get paid, and poof…no hockey in San Angelo. Going to the games for free is not supporting your team. I truly hope that new ownership will step in and build the Outlaw organization up to where it deserves to be.
The fans of San Angelo need to also be mindful of the fact that without the other hockey teams, your team would have no one to play and therefore no hockey in San Angelo. I have a great deal of respect for the players on your team. They have had to struggle through a very difficult situation throughout the season and applaud their ability to keep focused on the games. We have visited with Jeff Cheeseman during the season and also with Chris Peach and Brent Scott after Saturday’s game. Pats on back were issued and smiles were exchanged. It is possible to co-exist guys.
If you wish to continue to hurl insults at us on our board, that is your choice. I hope that you will exhibit a higher maturity level that I know San Angelo fans are capable of and choose the higher road.
I would like to say thank you to Djay2Tx for the “way to go’s” you have posted throughout the hockey season. They are appreciated.
Jacks rule, all others drool!

Re: San Angelo
I don't have to attend a hockey game to support a player. They do take cash, dinners on the town, vehicle repair help, gift certificates to local hot spots and shopping, free babysitting when they need a break, and I have mailed long-distance care packages to a few over the last 3 years. In all honesty, I don't understand why anybody would WANT to play for this organization considering it's rep around the minors. The only reason a player can give you is they like the town, the barn and the citizens (not just fans, but some make friends away from the rink too). A few guys have retired from the game here in San Angelo.
The fact is this league promotes itself as fun family entertainment to "showcase the speed, skill, physical play and excitement of professinal ice hockey." If you compare franchise to franchise (promotions, sponsors, community involvement, public appearances, marketing of the team, pre-season hype, on-ice promos and give-a-ways); San Angelo Pro HOckey just falls flat. The players give it 110% because of their competitive nature. We don't see the cream of crop come to San Angelo and the few who do usually find a reason to leave quickly thereafter (or rarely return for a 2nd year)
If I knew a group with $1,200,000 - $1,800,000 range, I'd sponsor the meeting with league myself. That's the price they list for a franchise opportunity.

Re: San Angelo
Well, if you aren't going to believe that I'm glad other cities have hockey, not sure what you are meaning by that comment, or why it was made. And those quotes I've said, well the UTPB thing was a joke, get over it. I have a ton of respect for Hillman and would love to have him on my team. I've joked about Outlaws players that I've known and/or been a fan of. Woopty doo. And the jackrabbit, it ain't like I ran over it on purpose. Am I an Odessa fan no. And no reason I should be. Only team I'm a fan of is my team. Get over it.
Re: San Angelo
You need to finish your sentences Shady. A far as being “over it”, I have been. I was just refreshing your memory of your childish moments you seem to have forgotten. Your quote, “Other than maybe Ian, I'm not sure where anyone has acted childish in this thread or forum. So don't lump us all together please.” Just pointing out that you do belong in the lump.
I don’t believe I asked you to support another team, either.
