Hi
I'm a SHAM in Nebraska. My husband is an over the road trucker and we have 2 girls. I'm new to forums but I'm looking forward to learning the information that you all have to share.
Re: Welcome
Some days are really crazy especially since I also babysit for my sister and cousin. When all the kids are here I have a total of 6 girls ranging from 10 to 4. That's including my girls. I did find though that the three 5 and under love to wash things. If I give them wet washclothes they will clean everything.
The hardest part is working in time for the office work (paying the bills, organizing my husbands piles of reciepts each month for taxes and keeping up with which taxes have to be paid when and which permits have to be renewed when.) It's worth it though when I get to spend the time with my girls.
Re: Welcome
I love the story about how the little ones like to wash things. I imagine your 'paperwork' time would be limited. You sound very organized though. Sounds like DH trust you to handle all of these things. I hope he appreciates all that you do.
Re: Welcome
Just a quick intro...I have 2 young children (2 1/2 and 5 months) that my DH has stayed home with since the first one was born. I work and now own a portion of the family business that my father started 30+ years ago.
DH and I have just finally hit the position where the only payments we owe to anyone is our house, school loans (DH is currently going to grad school) and our monthly bills. The car and credit cards are paid off!!!! It's kind of scary, I'm sooo used to having that debt hang over my head I feel like I'm having to relearn my relationship to money and how I budget.
I'm looking forward to learning a new thought process for my family.
My name is Mo. I live Las Vegas and have been in the credit/banking industry for almost 15 years. I have worked for credit card companies as well as the retail banking industry. I am always absorbing information to better not only my own financial situation but also to help others.
It is refreshing to see people out there actively taking ownership of their situations and being proactive about improving them.
Too many times I see or talk to people who complain about their financial situations but never take action to fix it.
KUDOS to the entire board for taking action and to Grandpa Terry for all the valuable work he does!!
Re: Introductions
Hi, I am Deb, and I have been reading grandpa Terry's newsletter for years. Looking forward to getting to know you and learning from you all.
