APRIL 19--Meet Philip Winikoff. The 76-year-old Florida man was arrested this morning and charged with sexual battery after he posed as a doctor and went door-to-door--black doctor's bag in hand--offering women free breast exams. According to a Broward County Sheriff's Office report, two women--ages 33 and 36--fell for the scam, which Winikoff allegedly ran in Lauderdale Lakes. Charged with several felonies, Winikoff was booked into the sheriff's lockup, where the below mug shot was snapped. Police are now investigating whether other women may have been tricked into impromptu examinations.
OMG, I saw this on the news last night. ?! As perverted as the whole concept is with the old guy, I wonder WHAT these women were thinking letting some stranger fondle them?!

Yes, yes he is a terrible person and people should not have to live in fear of perverted predetors like this, but this is the world we live in.
I am constantly amazed at how STUPID people are!
If someone just came to my door claiming this, I would lock my door and call the police immediatly. On the radio broadcast I heard, officers were going around the neighborhood to see if there are any duped chicks that didn't call the cops.

My 87 year-old great-aunt (yes, 87!) had two young gentlemen come to her door claiming to be from some fence company. They asked if they could escort her out back and look at her current fence. My aunt is like the sweetest old lady ever. My mom says she can't ever remember her raising her voice. anyway, she goes out to her own yard with them, it's in the middle of the day and they are talking about the fence that is there and they keep walking back pretty far (she has some property) when she stops and says she won't walk any farther with them and thanks them for coming by. When she went back into her house, her purse was gone and her house was ransacked (sp?). People are evil.
Just a month ago, I was home with my son and some guy knocked on the door, said something about a fencing company and I immediatly said I wasnt interested and locked the door. I don't know if it was just lucky or if someone else called but a police officer drove down my road and asked them a few questions. They must have been legitimate because they kept going door to door. Freaked me out though.

My brother got a call one day from someone claiming to be from the government and needing his Mastercard number to check on some kind of fraud. He was going to give it them! I pushed the button down to disconnect the phone to stop him. He was really angry ... WITH ME!!! He figured that, since they knew he had a Mastercard, they must be legit. I pointed out that Mastercard is the most common card out there and that, if they really did have his info, why did they need him to give them the number?
He cooled down when the police came to take the report and told him I was right.

That fence story is just awful. Honestly, I'm glad that all they were interested in was taking her purse. *shudders*
Reminds me of the time my mother came home from a quick trip to the grocery store to find that my grandmother (in her 80's with then early stage alzheimers) had let two missionaries into the house. My folks live out in the country, (no nearby neighbors) and my mother was freaked out. Luckily, they truly were missionaries and had been keeping my grandmother company. Mom didn't leave Grandma home alone after that.
