A Muggle's World
|
|
|
Castle Door
Before setting foot inside the Swivenhodge castle, students must stop at the Castle Door. Within these pages a student will find important information about the school. Indeed, those foolish to cross the castle threshold without this valuable knowledge would be in great peril indeed. In addition to an information kiosk for newcomers, the door serves as a bulletin board for current students. Staff contacts can be found within; also check here often for announcements and special events.

Muggle Chatter
Break free from the magical world and discuss whatever you choose within. Feel free to share your schoolday woes or holiday celebrations. Tell stories to make us laugh, or make us cry - the choice is yours. However, please keep the conversation civil and limit the spamming. Also note that this is not the place for advertising.

Leftside Smack a Hedgehog
Don't ask, because we don't know either. Anyway, this is our leftover forum for all of those little extras that just clutter the muggle's chatter. Post image requests and homework help needs within, and hopefully a friendly classmate will lend you a hand. Also, find the ever dangerous testing ground and always bustling affiliate request log. Oh, and if you ever feel the need to go crazy, this is the place to do it...

Mountains Three
|
|
|
Gwalahir
While all of Swivenhodge's Dormitories and Common Rooms are concealed within their respective mountains, the Gwalahir dwellings are better-lit and more airy than their fellows. Situated high up on the mountainside, the exterior of the hawk complex merges with the base of the astronomy tower, giving these students a bird's-eye view of the school and grounds below. A fierce-looking falcon statue guards the entrance to the common room, warding away any soul foolish enough to give the incorrect password.

Teomad
Out of the three houses' common room and dormitory areas, the Teomad complex is by far the most unique. The common room itself is a large, comfortable cavern. High above, a natural skylight provides daytime light and fresh air in warm months. Teomad students keep a wary eye on their completed schoolwork, less their tricky fellows dump it into the house's very own underground stream. Near the library, a wiley, wise-talking mask guards the entrance to the Teomad rooms.

Lysandun
The Lysandun student common room and dormitory are built directly into the mountain. Very little of the complex is actually above ground. Unlike the natural cavern of the Teomad house, the Lysandun rooms are made of cut stone. However, the large common room is quite homey, decorated in warm colors of silver and navy blue. Located in the south wing, the entrance is watched over by a strange statue in the guise of a winged wolf.

Within the Castle

|
|
North Wing
A walk in the north wing locates many of the necessary classes. Potions is located in a rather dark, dusty corner of the castle's basement. Both of the Muggle classes are on the fourth floor. The Ancient Rune classroom has quite a view from its seventh-floor location. Magical History is quite sensibly, in the second story.

South Wing
A potpourri of classes are found in the Castle's southern wing. Both Charms classes are taught on the third floor, while Language students have quite a hike to their lofty room. Defense Against the Dark Arts is located on the first floor. The Divination room is tricky to find, requiring some patience and skill from the seeker. Arithmancy, on the other hand, is straight-forward in its fifth floor home.

Library
What would a school be without its very own library? Swivenhodge has a large, rather impressive one with books older than the school itself. Comfortable tables and chairs are interspersed among the endless bookshelves. Indeed, much of the student body could study quite comfortably within this massive room.

Castle Grounds
Not only is the Castle Grounds a gathering place for students in all weather, but it also serves as two outdoor classrooms. A small, odd-shaped building serves as the location of Care of Magical Creatures. Inside is a stable of sorts, built for housing a wide variety of interesting creatures. The main Herbology Greenhouse is also built here, although the class is sometimes held on one of the school's many tiered roofs.

School Records
Although optional, the school records really are quite handy. Each student is allowed one thread within which he or she may post contact information, character profiles, and/or to-do lists. Be creative! The more interesting, the better.

The Restricted Section
For Prefect's eyes only, this is the unfortunate record of rule-breakers and problem threads. Also, old admin-only files go here.
