I have so many questions. I know that this diet does work, but I still don't quite know what I can eat & what I cannot. I want to lose about 30 pounds. I would like to know how long does it take possibly for that much weight to be lost. thanks your friend, ashley

If you haven't bought the book everyone talks about (Dr. Atkins new diet revolution) get it .I have been trying to email different people who have success stories posted and no one gets back to me. I just started this, and I am learning myself. I am a bit of a know it all when it comes to eating and well I have learned I don't know it all just by reading a few paragraphs of the book . I thought carrots would be a good choice for induction, not I discovered they are like potatoes starch. So reading to book is teaching me. I am a bit discouraged though, because I have not lost any weight, could it be those carrotts and refied beans also bad choice. I am eatting lots of eggs and fajittas hopefully will start to show results soon. No soda or caffine, crystal light may be ok. I have seen lots of success stories so I am going to push forward as should you. It's been a while since you posted this so hopefully you will get this. Good Luck

*Lots* of carbs in fajitas. My suggestion is buy and *read* the Atkins book. You'll be amazed at what foods are high in carbs. And read the labels on the foods you buy. Total carbs minus fiber will tell you how good or bad that food is when it comes to carb content.

I am frustrated because I am a scale slave. This is my 5th day of induction. I also have been walking 30-45mins a day. When is the scale going to show me a 5lb lost. How long will it take? Is my metablism that slow. Please give words of encouragement, weekend is coming and I hope I will stay on induction.

I don't know if I have lost that much or not but all of you just hang in there. When I had my 1st child I weighed116 if iI was lucky now you see what I weigh, and it bothers me so much, I would like some supportand snack recipes that are easy to make so if anyone is interested in talking please let me know and also(I"M SORRY) my daughter who is 10 is doing this, could you give her some encouragement? Thanks

Hi ladies. I'm so glad to have found this board. I just started the Atkins diet a week and a half ago and I was thinking how their website is WONDERFUL, but it could use a message board for people to support each other and offer suggestions. What a great place this is. Thank you SO much to the owner of this board for creating it. During my first week and a half I've lost 11 pounds so far, and inches in several places. I'm thrilled with the way it's going. Now, to the poster above who is saying the scales aren't budging yet, perhaps it has some to do with the amount of weight you have to loose. I have a great deal of weight to loose, (over 100 pounds) and, I've heard that those with greater amounts to loose loose faster (at least in the beginning). However, be careful. Some of the things I read in the thread here seem like that person, (I hate that ezboard now made it so only one post is visible when you click on reply in the post rather than on top of the board, so I can't see all the names, or posts) anyway, that person may be eatting higher carbs than allowed without realizing it perhaps. If you guys haven't seen the main Atkins site here's the url: www.atkins.com It has a place to register (for free) and you can keep a journal, with daily diet for yourself, and progress and everything. But best of all, it has articles galore, AND a complete listing of allowable foods, etc... if you haven't been there I really suggest you check it out. For me, I was a carbohydrate addict. I craved sugar, and sweets. I thought it would be something I could never break. I'd even wake up in the middle of the night craving something sweet, and would eat a cheese sandwich (cheese good, bread baaaaaaaad. Imagine my surprise when in only two days all cravings disappeared and I don't miss them at all. Not a bit. Now for me it may have been a tad easier because my main diet consisted of eggs, cheese, chicken, and fish, besides the pastas, and breads, and rice... so even cutting the carbs out, left me with my normal diet, in fact, I could eat all I wanted of the cheese, eggs, chicken, fish, and even PORK... and wow, it started coming off. I'm not sure how fast the loss will continue as I go on, although I'm definately going to stick with the induction level for a long time since I have so much to loose, so I'll keep ya'll posted.
