Welcome
This is Grandpa Terry (Terry Rigg) and I am the editor of the Budget Stretcher web site and newsletter and chief bottle washer of this forum.

I thought it was about time that my almost 22,000 newsletter subscribers had a chance to start talking to each other so I developed The Budget Stretcher Forum.

I'm not too good at this forum business and will be seeking moderators in the very near future to help out. I will be spending as much time as possible answering any questions you may have in the forum.

If you see a questions from a member that you believe you can answer, please do so. This is what this forum is all about.

Remember, this is your forum and if you ever have any ideas, comments or complaints just direct them my way.

I would especially like your thoughts on new forum topics that you believe will help everybody.

I'll post more in this intro as I come up with things to pass along.

All the best,
Grandpa Terry

Re: Welcome
Hi Grandpa Terry and the rest of the group. I have been practicing cutting back and budgeting for several years. I took early retirement, and moved with my dh to a better climate, and into an area we love.
The Budget Stretcher , has been a help in learning new ideas and ways to approach living on half of what we used to earn. I enjoy sharing and recieving all the wonderful ideas. I'm new at using forms too, and have always been leary of using them.

Wow, it's neat to see that people from all over the world are part of this e-community!

I'm in Texas, which we (quite humbly) consider to be a separate country. :lol

Thank you, Grandpa Terry, for the help you've given me and all of us.

Hello,

I am from Pennsylvania, in an area that is known for frugal living (I live among the Amish and Mennonites!) but always enjoy learning from others.

I too wanted to thank you, Grandpa Terry, for all your hard work in helping others with their finances and trying to live a financially balanced life and also for creating this forum for people to interact with one another.

Hi All! I'm a brand-spankin' new member all around- just discovered and signed up for Budget Stretcher yesterday. I read about the forum today- so here I am! I'm really excited to have help learning how to budget- I've tried it before and it just didn't work.

I guess I should introduce myself a little better- I'm a 26 yr old SAHM to 3 boys and a newlywed of 6 months. We own (well kinda- still paying on) a little house in Michigan, but would love to be financially stable enough to buy a bigger house in the country in 5 years. I'm hoping through the tips & tricks I learn about budgeting that we can make that dream a reality.

I'm looking forward to getting to know you all!

I also just wanted to say Thank You to Grandpa Terry. I think it is awesome that he shares his insights with us. So many times I wish my Grandparents were still here so I could ask them well how did you guys do this? I wish I would have paid more attention LOL I am saving a lot of info and tips to put in folders for my children when they move out so they will also have something to refer to if I am not around. Thanks again for your wonderful site and newsletter.;)

Re: introduction
I'm in Texas. Hubby works two jobs (pastor & computer tech) and I homeschool 4 of our kids while 3 go to private school and will hopefully return to homeschooling in the fall. (Needed a break this past year after 11 + years of schooling). Having 7 kids, 2 with special needs, I'm always looking for ways to stretch money! I guess the last thing I would say about myself, which should be the first thing, is that I love the LORD my GOD. I am a Christian and I attend a Missionary Baptist church. It's nice to meet y'all. :-) Blessings, Tina

I am a forum newbie. I am 40 years old, live in Missouri and I work as a cardiovascular technologist in a cath lab. I recently earned my masters degree in Computer Information systems and the student loan is kicking in soon... so I am on the prowl for ways to earn/save more money. I enjoy the news letters and look forward to feeding my brain.

Re: Welcome
Greeting from Sunny San Diego, CA -

About 3 months ago I was googling ways to save money and found Grandpa Terry's site. Being a Navy vet and the wife of a former Marine - I knew I could trust the info and the sponsors for that matter. Thank you for your time and the energy it takes to provide this venue to people. I love the newsletter and actually took your advise about Mvelopes. I have been using it for over a month now and it does seem to help. We have more control on our spending and have been able to cut about $200 off our monthly grocery bill. I really think we can overcome the frustrations of living in one of America's most expensive cities as long as we stay focused. I will be using this forum to get lots of advise. Thanks again for making this available!

Introductions
Hi everyone. I am a SAHM (stay-at-home-mom) for 4 yrs now, living on one income by choice. We homeschool our 12 yr old daughter. I try to teach her good stewardship so she won't have to worry about paying off debt- she will hopefully manage her finances better than we have.

I enjoy the many sharings, Terry. Thanks so much and I look forward to contributing here as well.

Hello everyone. Terry, I must say I look forward to your newsletters and your wonderful ideas for making that $ learn it's worth. I hope to retire within the next few years, so am trying to get ready and to practice for retirement. I am also truly looking forward to all the suggestions and comments from members of this forum.

Re: Introductions
Hi ! Las Vegas signing in here. We are retirees who can't quite seem to stay retired. We moved from Ohio several years ago and love the sunshine out here.
We raised four children, and now have two grandchildren. My husband has a "part-time" handyman business for which I do the bookwork. I volunteer at the local library, and am an avid coupon / refunder.
Searching for new ways to save or stretch a dollar has always been important to us, but seems more so now. Everything just keeps going up.
Thanks also to the Budget Stretcher - what a fountain of information it has been. ;)
