Training camp underway
GORILLAS TRAINING CAMP UNDERWAY AT THE JUNGLE
AMARILLO, TX - The Amarillo Gorillas officially got training camp underway this morning (Monday, October 6) at The Jungle in the Amarillo Civic Center to face-off the 2003-2004 Central Hockey League season.
Twenty-one players took the ice under the guidance of Gorillas Head Coach/Director of Hockey Operations and Assistant General Manager Joe Ferras. The Gorillas are trying to build off of last year’s incredible season where they advanced to the playoffs for the first time in Amarillo professional hockey history.
The Gorillas will skate today again from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. and all week from 10 am to Noon.
Fans and members of the media are more than welcome to drop by and watch the players skate.
The Amarillo Gorillas will kick-off their exhibition schedule on Friday, October 10 at 7 p.m. when they travel to Lubbock to face the arch-rival Cotton Kings at Lubbock Municipal Coliseum. The game can be heard live on the new flagship station of Gorillas Hockey Hot 99.7 FM, a division of Amigo Broadcasting.
The Gorillas will play their home exhibition game on Tuesday, October 14 at 7 p.m. when they host the Lubbock Cotton Kings at the Jungle in the Amarillo Civic Center. Tickets are just $5 and can be purchased at the Gorillas Hockey Office located at 1934 Civic Circle in Wolflin Village, by calling 242-7825, at the Civic Center Box Office, Panhandle Tickets at Randy’s Music Mart, WT Event Center in Canyon and United Supermarkets in Amarillo, Dumas, Pampa and Borger. Tickets can also be ordered by phone at 378-3096 or charged on line at www.panhandletickets.com.
