The World of Atuan

For more than a Hundred years Mages lived with a certain line of Authority. Master Mages would rule the islands, Mages would inhabit them freely, and Commoner’s got what was left. But now the Commoner’s began to revolt against the oppressive rule of the Master Mages, fighting for equality between all those who lived in Atuan.
Blood was shed and loves were lost, but under the Guidance of four Magii who stood with the commoner’s they were victorious. The Four Magii, Ebnahn of Lerak, Maeve of Quies, Leiaa of Maraldo and Cisor of Exanim, overthrowed Hebhanned, the Greatg Mage of Atuan. Abnahn was skilled in Weather Control, and served the Goddess of the sky – Na’ikijana. Maeve was a master of healing and served the God of the sea – Lok’ihana. Leiaa was a skilled chanter and served the Goddess of nature – Maleina’i. Cisor was a master chanter and Illusionist and served the God of the flame and furnace – PapeiNaho. Together they destroyed Hebhanned, the only Master summoner in Atuan. They had to combine their power, asking the God and Goddess of Death – Gead and A’hia – for help.
But Hebhanned would not fall so easily.

Before his death Hebhanned had, unbeknownst to all the other mages, placed a curse upon Atuan. Things started to go horribly wrong. People disappeared, became ill or died. Mages and Commoners alike began to swear that they had visions, that they saw ghost, monsters and vile twisted beings. Now Atuan is safe anymore.
Even as everyone now daily fights for their survival against the evil consuming their land, they cannot live in total harmony. People have been living in a new equality for two hundred years, but there is still animosity between certain people, while other have slid into the harmony easily.
Fighting each other, Fighting Evil and Fighting for Survival.
