The State of the Guild Address 10/05
Greetings Tosh'ers! It's time for our "whenever it goes out" state of the TOSH address!
I want to apologize in advance to anyone who gets two or three of these messages. I send them through EZ Boards, so if you get more than one it's because you've registered more than once or on several boards. It can't be as bad as the hundreds of "not found" e-mail replies I'll get back after sending this... but in any case, bear with me. 
********THE NEWS!*********
First off, I would like to pre-announce the creation of our new Order of the Silver Hand website and forums. Thanks to one of our present TOSH WoW member, (Denny) we will soon be posting at a new crib!
It will be flash enabled, and include new PhP forums. The new forum layout will be different than our old system. Instead of having a separate forum for each game we enter, we will now have one central meeting place for all TOSH members. This will make it much easier for us to stay connected as we move from one game to another.
We will have a "general" TOSH section at the top, where we can talk about general topics, stay in touch with old friends, and discuss the past and future of our great guild, TOSH. This will be an area for all TOSH members, both new and old, regardless of what game they are presently playing.
Beneath the general forums, we will have separate forums for each individual game. This will be where specific game details will be discussed. Some of these forums will be password protected, and others will not, just like our existing EZ Board and Guild Portal forums operate. Each guild leader will have control over his/her own individual boards.
The forum area will include links to all of our old forums to show to our new family members, and keep alive our rich history. For the games we're currently in, each guild will decide whether or not to continue using their existing boards, or move over to the new ones. If possible, we will attempt to import the existing forums to the new ones, and combine the two.
Not only will we have new forums, but a new website as well, with our history, screenshots new and old, and the rest of what TOSH the great guild it has become. The addresses will be:

********THE PRESENT!*******
I'm happy to say that TOSH is still going strong and active in 6 games, after almost 6 years of gaming. It couldn't have been done without you... our loyal players that make up the Silver Hand family.
If you haven't played any games in a while and are looking for that fix, we're active in a lot of games, one of which is certain to be able to get that monkey off your back!
TOSH is presently involved on two servers (PvP and PvE) of World of Warcraft, City of Heroes (and this weekends release of City of Villains), Final Fantasy Online, Dark Age of Camelot, Star Wars Galaxies, and Everquest 2.
As mentioned above, City of Villains is set to release this upcoming weekend, and TOSH will be there! It is similar to City of Heroes, but allows you to be "evil" in whole new areas. (get your pre-order/order box today for the 2 day "head start" at midnight tonight!)
The release of City of Villains also adds PvP to the best comic based game on the market. Imagine blasting away at your enemy while hovering or flying at the rooftops of skyscrapers! The pvp is done in your choice of arenas, open outdoor city zones, or private team vs team areas with no outside interference. And, once you enter these zones the game either levels you down, or levels you up so it's a fair and even fight!
CoV and CoH brings skills, weapons, and abilities to the game that are totally new to MMORPG's. Of course, it's a great game with NO pvp needed as well, and great for a casual gamer. Come join us this weekend! (no tights required!)
In World of Warcraft, we continue to play nightly on both the horde and alliance sides of the game. We don't have the huge numbers we had at release on our alliance side, but we'd still love to have you join us. There's NO pvp on the alliance server (except for voluntary, consensual zones) and perfect for the TOSH style of gaming.
Our WoW horde guild (PvP) is growing steadily as well, and has regular events on a weekly basis! (both high AND low level scheduled PvP on the team regulated battlegrounds!) If you've never played WoW you owe it to yourself to check it out... it's a wonderful game, and there's TOSH friends ready to show you the ropes!
Even if you're only level 15 in WOW, there's level controlled areas where guild vs guild pvp takes place. No more grinding for years before you can play! Of course, if pvp isn't your thing, our alliance side is waiting! If you've never tried WoW... you owe to yourself to give it a shot. It's really a great game.
After almost two years we're also still active in Final Fantasy Online! Like some of the other "older" games we're still involved in, we don't have 40 people online at one time in FFXI anymore, but there's a dedicated core of friendly TOSH here if you decide to check it out. We like to think it's "quality over quantity" in this one!
FFXI is an intriguing game with spectacular graphics and a superb questing system. Since it's been out for a couple of years it's an inexpensive purchase, and we have people willing to help get you off and running.
I'm happy to announce that after somewhere around four years, our DAoC chapter is still rolling! Formed on the 1st day of release, The Order of the Silver Hand is one of the oldest guilds in the game!
I can't thank enough the people who have been in leadership positions there. Barrett and his predecessors have created something special in DAoC that may never be duplicated. Yes, we're a small guild there now, but friendships last forever, and so might TOSH DAoC!
Yes... you'll also still find TOSH members playing Star Wars Galaxies as well as Everquest 2!
Because of attrition to other games, and the dynamics of these two games needing a BIG guild to progress, TOSH has merged with other guilds to create much larger guilds that can play the games the way they should be played.
Having said that, I'm proud to say that you will still find TOSH members playing together in these larger combined guilds, and all too happy to have other TOSH come and join them. Simply go to the TOSH websites or forums for those to games for details! I can't thank enough the leaders of these two games who unselfishly put the "guild first" and got us into units that allow us to stay together and enjoy the "end game" content the way it's meant to be played.
******THE FUTURE********
As new games are released, you can still count on TOSH to be there!
One of the reasons I brought TOSH from our original game (Asheron's Call) into others was so that we didn't have to say goodbye to our friends when we moved on to other games. I pledge to continue this in the future, and provide a place where long-term friendships can, and have been created.
Like stated above, we're moving into City of Villains this weekend, and we already have leaders lined up for the upcoming epic, Dungeons and Dragons Online! Of course, we won't be sitting on our thumbs when The Lord of the Rings Online comes out either!
One of my personal favorites, "Guild Wars" has been out a while, and they just made the game even easier for people to "level up", so you can hit max level VERY easily and start enjoying the team based PvP.
In GW, teams of 10 fight each other to the death in detailed mission types... with the teams all ranked on a ladder. It’s FPS type fighting, with MMORPG type characters. How great it would be to see TOSH ranked in the top 10 of thousands of teams!

In closing, we've had thousands of people walk through our doors in the last 5 years, and many more will join us in years to come. Our family is truly worldwide, from the US to New Zealand, and from Japan to Germany we've made new friends.
We've had our ups and we've had our downs, but through it all, we've remained together. We've had friends, husbands and wives, parents and children, and brothers and sisters play together within our family... old and young working together towards a common goal.
