So much for 'Master of the Horse'
Ehhh. I came off of Versinae (16 hands 2 inches- Anglo Arab) today. Right flat on my tush. Hurt me arm (got a nice battle scar) and gave my head a good bump so thats sore, but nothin out of the ordinary from the past few weeks.
It wasn't his fault or mine to be blatently truthful. Well okay, maybe it was partially mine, but definately not his.
We'd just cantered up the beach and were on the last leg of our trail ride. We'd ridden for a fair while, about two hours and Versi was sweating something shockin & thats only cause he hasn't been excersized lately. Anyway, my two friends and I decided to tackle a small, but steep incline back up onto the trail, which was no problem, Versi could do that easily and I was confident enough.
So after the two other girls took the slope, Versi and I attempted it, Voila, we did it. However, because my girth is purely made of leather (not very good on slippery sweaty horses) it shifted the saddle as Versi stretched out up the slope.
This put pressure on the buckles, forcing it back into itself and loosening the girthstrap all together. So therefore, not only did I come tumbling off, the saddle joined me in the dirt.
So it wasnt Versi's fault, nor was it mine really... It was my responsibility however to aquire a new girthstrap. Which I will have to do before I go on another long trail ride.
Ouch. Man O Man I am sore. Well I work ALL day tomorrow... at least im not sitting down.
You ask how does this have any reference to Karl Urban? Well as Master of the Horse, clearly I should be Mistress.... Hey don't look at me like that! Im working on it! :p

I hope you're OK now. If it makes you feel any better, whilst filming LOTR, Karl and Gimli's double fell off his horse...while it was walking.

As in.. they fell together.. or they both fell? Man, i never heard that story. I knew about Orlando's cracked rib (of course.. ) and about Viggo's cracked tooth and toe (boy is that man accident prone) and about Sean's pierced foot. but i never heard that the deeelicious Karl took a tumble too..
Poor guy.. did he hurt anything? *in case it needs to be kissed all better*

Re: So much for 'Master of the Horse'
Here's a snippet from someone who attended the Fellowship Festival in London a few months back:
"Every day he (Karl) was asked the injury question and every day he told the story that he had Brett, Gimli’s stunt double, on the horse in front of him, and they were riding into Edoras, through the gates and somehow they both leaned the same way at the same time and just fell off! He said it was embarrassing, especially as it was only at walking pace - but not exactly an injury."
