Rowan Finnigan
I'm just putting this here for the moment, I'll work out a more traditional bio in a bit.
Rowan Finnigan, 33, Human
If she cleaned herself up and dressed nice she could be a sexy dame but as she never does her mahogany hair with fiery highlights and gentle waves is more a frizzy rats nest. Her large clear emerald eyes are hidden behind coke-bottle glasses, her generous curves are covered in shapeless oversized sweaters and dresses cut two sizes too large. Rowan is a bombshell in a paper bag. She dresses for comfort and warmth, finger combs her hair and yanks it into a ponytail, frequently forgets to wear shoes and has been mistaken more than once for an absentminded professorial sort.
Rowan is a bookworm, more than content to let the world pass by as long as she can read, write and listen to some tunes in the meantime. Highly intelligent and possessed of that rare commodity called common sense, she abstains from most social contact and lives as a veritable recluse. She doesn't dislike people, rather, she hardily realizes that people are there unless they do something to wrench her attention from her latest project. She often forgets to eat or sleep while researching something and finds nothing wrong with this. She is fond of animals but has none of her own and while the idea of travel is nice, she would prefer it if the things she wanted to see would just come to her.
Rowan was born to a family in England whose roots were Irish but whose political affiliations were not. Her father was a politician and her mother a typical politician’s wife and from these two Rowan learned early on that all information was precious. She also learned never to get into politics and never to do something that would get you blackmailed. This is rather hard because Rowan rarely feels ashamed of anything which is the key point in blackmail.
Rowan's older brother went into the military and made it something of a mission to look after his quiet and strange sibling. Rowan loved her family but was fascinated with the written word and learned five languages simply to have a better understanding of the delicacy of translations. She grew up in expensive boarding schools always a trifle bored and outcast from the other girls who were being bred and raised for elite circles of politicians, CEO's and other rich and powerful moneyed types.
Rowan never married, though she played with the idea. There were few men in her social circles who could keep her interest or were interested in her. Rowan's older brother married and kept their parents happy with grandchildren while Rowan worked quietly from the national library and aided certain government types with delicate research. She died in her bed from monoxide poisoning after leaving the gas on in the kitchen.
Powers, if any: Can read and write in English, Cantonese, French, Russian, and German, can speak those languages a little, and has instant recall of anything she's ever read.
Weapons, if any: None.
Additional information: Rowan's response to finding out she had died: "I knew I forgot something."
