NAME THE KITTY CONTEST!
okay, after buying alot of kitty supplies, it's obvious that we're getting a kitty soon. Our plan is to adopt one next weekend should we fall in love with one, but really, not many people can look at kitties and not fall in love, so I am already thinking, what shall we call it?
SO BEGINS THE KITTY NAMING CONTEST!
IF you should win, what do you win? NOTHING!
hahaha! sorry, I'm poor like that.
More than likely:
1. The cat in question will be a young kitty.
2. The cat in question will be a female.
3. The cat in question will be a saved stray by my local animal shelter.

EDIT: went to look yesterday. they have a pretty lil girl black kitty with bright yellow eyes. We put her on her back in our arms and she just laid there and purred! Our son put his cheek on her her head and gave her a soft kiss and she still just purred, didn't even pull away from him. She was found as a stray and they estimate her age at under 6 months. I have an appt tomorrow morning for all the tests and shots at our vet. There are no cheap pets. $138 for the tests/vaccinations/flea stuff and that doesn't count worm treatment if she tests positive for those. Cross your fingers for no worms!
How bout "Milkshakes"?
Thats what I named my hunter's pet tiger and I got it from a cartoon that has an incredibly cute pink kitten named Milkshakes. And no, it has nothing to do with that song...lol
Either way I'm way jealous and I can't wait to get my own kitten! Enjoy your new bundle of fluff!

hmmmm, hard to name without knowing the colors and personality. I had a cocker spaniel named Calvin and had every intention of getting a male cat and naming him Hobbs. However, the saved stray I ended up with was gray (looks like a Blue Russian) and a very odd personality, nothing like Hobbs from the comic strip. I ended up with him after my then boyfriend (now husband) and I broke up and I had been very sad. When I was feeling better, I decided I was getting a cat. Someone had rescued a stray pregnant kitty and found homes for all her kittens. I named him Ezra, which means "Dawn, the beginning of joy".
My cat Jasper was named after Jasper National Park in Canada. Another stray, we found him right around the time we took this awesome trip. He is yellow and fit the name of Hobbs perfectly, but came around about 7 years after I came up with that plan... go figure!
Mickey and Sylvester, two more strays, named for their black and white colors (you know, Mickey Mouse, or Mickey Mouser as we like to call him, and Sylvester from Looney Tunes).
Yes, I am the perfect house to leave strays. They will be absorbed into the household, even at the risk of divorce.
Guess I didn't really help much. No prizes for me! I guess my point in all this blabbering is, think of names that fit the situation, like Nymo suggested, paired with looks and personality and the cat will name itself.

Sharran (my hunter on Feathermoon) has a snow leopard named Daldienne. She calls him Dal for short. If you have any night elfs, you know where the name comes from. Of course, I have no idea what it means.....
Other than that, you don't want my help. The names of some of my past/present cats: Fluffy, Kitty, Tom, Thomas, Punkin, Tigger (she doesn't have stripe on her). I'm just not very good at this.

I'm not a big fan of the more "popular" pet names, so I tend to go for the unusual. I definitely chose my oldest cat's name (Spirit) based on his personality - as in, he had a LOT of spirit when he was young, and he actually still does at 10 years old My female cat is named Tonks after the Harry Potter character (in books 5 & 6). Interestingly enough, I chose the name before I brought her home and really got to know her, but it couldn't have been better suited to her. If you've read the books, you know that Tonks is a young female witch who has a tendency to be a bit of a clutz. Well, that is definitely my Tonks, not a graceful bone in her cute little body

Merlyn was actually Mithra, they told us he was a "she", but in the car on the way home he got a name change :P We also thought about Minerva (The goddess of mischief, perfect for a kitten :P) Lilith, Cleo(patra), Luna, Pandora...ya see the theme I've got going here?... As you can tell we went looking for a female too :P
