Over on the WoW official forums, Eyonix let readers know they are looking into the connection issues players are having.

Our Networking Team is currently monitoring a recent internet anomaly which may prevent some players from accessing the World of Warcraft game servers, or cause random realm disconnections. We'll keep an eye on the situation and provide an update should more information become available.
