Mileage; How to get more
I've got a couple questions............I've never been too concerned about my driving, gas mileage & such; but I'm doing an intense look at all my expenses this month & my van came up as an "I don't know" most all the time.
I need advice as to what to check on to increase mileage. I work at home, so the van doesn't get much use. Maybe 50 miles a week if I've really got some errands to do.
I know about keeping tires inflated.........although I have no idea as to what number?? How do I find out??
Thinking there must be filters, etc that need to be changed or cleaned?? I usually leave these to the oil change people.....but decided I'm getting more involved this year.
Also wondering about taking out the back seat, since I don't use it.........the space would be more helpful. Would reducing the weight help with mileage??
Thanks for any help here...........

Re: Mileage; How to get more
As far as tires go, check your owners manual or with the tire manufactuer.

There are a number of different filters and such, you should be able to find the info in your maintence guide for your vehicle. If you don't have that guide check the manufactuers website or with your local dealer. The maintence guides are typically in the owners manual binder. Most companies have a zip case or container that holds all the paperwork regarding the vehicle...typically a owners manual, tire warranty, warranty guide, maintence guide and a few other things.

One of the major filters that often gets missed is the air filters although not every vehicle has the same types of air filters.
