Memorial Services for Matthew Blankenship
It is with deep regret that I inform you that Matthew Blankenship passed away on Februaury 13, 2008 after suffering a heart attack. His Girlfriend and Friends will be holding a Memorial Service in his honor this Saturday, February 23, 2008, @2:00pm, at the American Legion Hall in Lancaster, CA, located at 40th Street East & Ave J.

The Legion has been contacted and has confirmed that this is a public service, so all are welcome.

This is one of the reasons I wanted to get back with people from the Times. Many a friend I made in my 27+ years with the Times.

I could care less about the politics and disputes we may have HAD with management. People are people.

Matt and I had many a conversations... they were always enjoyable. I can't imagine that he is gone, he was young.

This for no other reason, makes me hope those who have left the Times for whatever reason, and those who are still there, keep in touch with fellow workers.

My thoughts to those who may have left us so far.
