Lukavai Del'Veira
Lukavai comes from a world very different from the one you hail from. In the distant past, on the ninefold creation, the Daemons lived their proud and quarrelsome lives upon the surface of a perfect world. In time, Gods came to desire this world, and demanded that the Daemons relinquish to them their lands for the Gods to do with as they pleased. The Daemons refused, and the Gods took this as an excuse to make war. After seven centuries, the Gods and their servants, the Celestines, succeded in defeating the Daemons. As punishment for their resistance to the will of the Gods, the Daemons were cast into the frozen belly of the world, and locked away. The Gods reshaped the surface of the world, and amused themselves with creating life to supplant the Daemon's untamed wilderness. After twelve thousand years, the Gods left, leaving the Celestines to watch over the frail mortals the Gods had created to amuse themselves, and to guard against the depradations of the Daemons.
In this time, however, the Daemons had not been idle. They observed their enimies, and the servants and creations of their enimies, and they learned. The mortals housed an incredible power in their weak and short-lived shells. Faith. The prayers and reverence of a mortal empowered and infused the object of their devotion. Upon discovering this knowledge, the Daemon clans re-orginized, forming the Nine Thrones. The throne of Temptation, the throne of War, the throne of Endowment, the throne of Corruption, the throne of Intruige, the throne of Domination, and the throne of Wealth. These were the angles upon which the Daemons would reclaim their world.
Lukavai was born to a human retainer from Padrian, one of the Tertians of the throne of Domination. He never learned his mother's name, as she died bringing him into the world. Disdainful of his half-breed spawn, Padrian disowned him, and promptly forgot Lukavai's existance. Rescued from oblivian's maw by a Temptress Pentarch named Sabtetchta, Lukavai grew up in the throne of Temptation. Inducted as soon as he could walk, Lukavai learned rapidly, and rose though the ranks of the throne with almost supernatural speed. By his thirtyth year, Lukavai was already Quadrat, a feat which commonly took at least one hundred and fifty years.
Such good fortune, however, carries powerful repercusions.
After two hundred and fifty years of exemplery servace, Lukavai commited an unpardonable sin. During a long term assignment, corrupting a Maiden of the Celestine faith, Lukavai recieved instructions to harvest her soul. Wracked by guilt, Lukavi revealed himself as a Daemon to his intended victim, and fled his masters.
For twenty years Lukavai lived among the mortals, crafting an identity as the modestly successful writer and painter Luke Verra. Over time, his Daemonic powers, unused, faded and eventually dissapeared. Lukavai, in the guise of Luke, settled down and almost managed to forget his life before, entering into marrage with a young woman and purchasing a home. This, also, was not meant to be. On the twentieth anneversary of his defection, the Daemon who had rescued him, Sabtetchta, found him. She murdered his bride and slipped into her skin to ambush Lukavia, who was away at a book signing for his latest novel. When he returned home, Sabtetchta cast off her diguise, and savagely attacked him for the humiliation he had caused her with his choice. She beat him to within an inch of his life and finished by crucifying him on the wall of his studio. Thus did Lukavai die.
He awoke on the streets of Nureese, accompanied by the few spirits who remembered their pacts with him. Friendless, Lukavai sought work, eventually finding his way to the Ikki! Ikki! He has minded door there now for ten years.

"The white city fell without her. Peace revolved around her, but when the mother left her children, they destroyed one another... She'll never forget that she left--she'll wear the chains of the martyr as she pulls the world's weight behind her, still thinking she's not doing enough." Morrigan Aensland
