You know, I closed my eyes and covered my ears at that scene. It's been bothering me off and on all summer. Sure, it's just a show, but the implications are so disturbing.

Oh I know and it was'nt any better when I saw it the second time this week. OMG I hope they find him somehow and get him back.

Don't know. I was thinking that maybe they meet up with the back of the plane people when the raft people get back on the island and they go looking for Walt or they're running from whatever the hell is in that hatch!! LOL

Re: Lost
For people like me who didn't watch last season, they are playing a "catch-up" episode on Wednesday before the season premiere at 8/7c. I've read the link Dee Dee gave me to read up about last season, so I'm pretty caught up. But it'll be nice to see it, instead of reading it!
Wednesday, Sept. 21, 8/7c
"Destination: Lost"
Prepare for the season premiere of Lost with a look back at the key events of the last season!
SEASON PREMIERE
Wednesday, Sept. 21, 9/8c
"Man of Science, Man of Faith"
In the season premiere, one of the castaways is chosen to descend into the mysterious hatch, and Shannon stumbles upon a shockingly familiar face in the jungle.

Let me guesss.... Boone's ghost right?? Please... I hope they don't go that route!
As for the rest, they've got to meet up with the rest of the plane people at some point. If for no other reason to keep the story going. It would be interesting to see them meet up as two totally different socities. Kind of "good" and "evil" type thing.

As soon as I saw him and Jack running those stairs... I knew it was him. Still wanna know the connection...what was with him calling Jack "brother"?? Hhmmm....that leaves a lot open doesn't it?
What happened to Saywer? He was shot and we didn't see anything about him last night!! And we're still waiting to see what is happening with Walt.
Ugh! More questions then answers last night! Damnit! lol! I know I know. If not for questions there'd be no show. But I don't have to like it! LOL!

EEEEEEEEE!!! Do you love it???
What the heck is the deal with the numbers??? They were everywhere!! I wonder if Desmond is alone because he was sleeping in the top bunk. Is someone sleeping on the bottom?? Do they control the monster on the island with their computers? Did the magnet that was pulling on Jacks necklace pull the plane out of the sky??
This show is brilliant!!

Re: Lost
'Lost' Premiere Raises More Mystery
HONOLULU -- "Lost" capped its thrilling first season with island adversaries Jack and Locke peering down an eerie shaft sunk deep into the earth. For fans who waited all summer for answers, the wait may be over — but the questions are just beginning.
In Wednesday night's second-season premiere of the Hawaii-filmed castaway drama, Jack, Locke and Kate separately descended into the shaft after blowing the metal hatch.
Keeping with "Lost" tradition, what lies beneath was as perplexing as it was revealing — electricity, plumbing, a computer room and a man with a thick accent living a subterranean existence. Surprisingly, Jack had met the man before.
The man's intentions weren't divulged in the episode, which ended in a tense scene with him pointing a gun at the head of Locke and ordering Jack to lower his firearm.
Jack didn't know who or what to believe. All he knew is that Kate is missing.
"I think when people watch this show and get to the end of the episode, they're dying to find out what's going to happen next week and they really don't have any idea," said Matthew Fox, who plays Jack, a doctor who has emerged as the unofficial leader of the plane-crash survivors.
Walt, the screaming youngster who was kidnapped at sea by a group of men, made a startling appearance. Shannon stumbled across the boy in the woods after being separated from Sayid.
Walt told Shannon to be quiet — then disappeared upon a second look. When Shannon told the other castaways that she saw Walt, she immediately was met with suspicion.
Was Shannon hallucinating? Was Walt hiding? Or is Walt a ghost?
Those answers will be divulged in later episodes.
As the castaways became separated and their number dwindled during the night, they grew increasingly impatient and distraught. But Jack stepped up his leadership role, becoming the voice of hope.
"We're all going to be safe as long as we stay together," Jack said. "The sun comes up in three hours and we're all going to be here to see that happen."
In an emotional flashback, viewers also saw how Jack met his future wife, Sarah.
Sarah, who's engaged to another man, seriously injured her spine in a car accident and is believed to be paralyzed from the waist down.
She told Jack that she wants to "dance at her wedding," and needs his help.
While performing surgery, Jack promised to fix her, which later troubled him. After Jack informed the fiance that Sarah most likely will be paralyzed, the fiance panicked.
"Lost" addicts remain left with many questions. But as Daniel Dae Kim, who plays Korean tough guy Jin, put it:
"Our writers are incredibly smart. I'm sure once they start answering questions for the audience, they'll be asking five more for every one they answer.
"They'll have a lot more to think about."

Re: Lost
I was thinking about Locke last night and I have a question. Has it been told to us whether or not the box company that Locke worked for is the same one that Hurley owns? I can't remember and I can't find anything on that.
Anybody know for sure?

I'm pretty sure it was. I think we're going to find out that they're all connected to those numbers, and Hurley, in some way. That's my opinion anyway. If you remember, those numbers are pretty much around Hurley all the time....

Thanks. I just can't remember if they told us for sure or not because I have CRS (can't remember sh*t)
Quote: If you remember, those numbers are pretty much around Hurley all the time....
And if you check the length of the episodes, most of them are 42 minutes long. Coincidence??
Some other numbers trivia from the season opener:
4
- # of guns left according to Jack in the season 2 premiere.
8
- # of months until Sarah's wedding when she got injured.
- # that appears on the top of the safe dial.
- # of people in the operating room when Jack performs surgery on Sarah.
- # of the machine Sarah has in the hospital.
- # of rungs on the ladder leading into the hatch.
15
16
- Desmond is riding his exercise bike in the hatch at 16 MPH.
23
- Nurse in the operating room said Sarah's pulse was 88 over 52. 8 + 8 + 5 + 2 = 23.
- The clock in Sarah's hospital room shows 2:30 when she wakes up and asks if she's alive.
- The first sequence of numbers on Jack's hospital ID is 75425. 7 + 5 + 4 + 2 + 5 = 23.
- To open the safe we see Desmond go to the numbers 23, 42, 48. If you add up each of the digits 2 + 3 + 4 + 2 + 4 + 8 = 23.
42
- One of the numbers that appears on the mural inside of the hatch.
- # in millions of dollars that Hurley's net worth decreased since he won the lottery. In season 1 we heard Hurley was worth 156 million dollars, but in Man Of Science, Man Of Faith Hurley says he won 114 million dollars. 156,000,000 - 114,000,000 = 42,000,000.
815
- 8:15 AM was the time of death for Adam Rutherford.
MIXED
- The bottles of medicine that Desmond has in his cabinet all say 4 8 15 16 23 42 across the top.
- When Jack is running through the stadium, the camera focuses on two of the seats and they are numbered 15 and 16.
- A wall inside the hatch shows the number 108. 108 is the sum of 4 8 15 16 23 42.
- To open the safe we see Desmond go to the numbers 23, 42, 48.
- It appears as though Desmond types 4 8 15 16 23 42 on the keyboard before hitting the execute button. Note: You can't see the keys he's hitting but if you count the keys and where he hits the space bar it does fit with 4 8 15 16 23 42 and it does look like he hits the 1 key twice, once for 15 and once for 16.
- When Jack is running through the stadium we can see signs up that label the rows of seating. We can see 4 8 15 42.
