League Status Address and Important Message
Dear League Members,
I have not addressed the league in about a more than one month. First of all, I am still in shock over the attack on America carried out over this last week. I live in the Tri-State area on the east coast in New Jersey, and used to work a block from the World Trade Center. My heart goes out to everyone who was affected by this tragedy. I am still trying to get in touch with many friends that worked in the area. I sincerely hope that everyone's loved ones are alright. My prayers go out to all the victims and their families.
I would also like to apologize for my absence from the league. I know a lot of you have been loyal to it and had been really involved in keeping it going. Please do not think that I just left and said the hell with the league. I have been real busy and just did not have time. I traveled to Florida 2 times during this last month and was in the process of taking care of some personal matters. I have been involved in proceedings pertaining to a serious car accident I was in about a year ago and also am currently in school right now to get my computer degree for web design and internet technology. I feel that I owe each of you an explanation of what I have been attending to and doing. To say that my time will be short is an understatement.
I feel this league helped bring a lot of us together to form friendships and a virtual community. I am glad I participated and helped run it. To everyone that participated, and especially to those who stuck with it all the way, I thank you. Of course, a success of a league is based on the participation of the members. I admit it was a bumpy ride with all the turnover, but it was a good experience.
In the last few weeks I have had a chance to take a look at the league page, I see that this league is fading away in the middle of the playoffs. A lot of it has to do with bad timing. The matters I mentioned that pertain to me are a reason, along with Arturo (Co-Commish) moving across the country. A lot of guys also went on vacations. To update everyone, the 1st round was ended or simmed in some cases. 2nd round matchups are set to begin. Whomever is still interested in continuing with the playoffs and the league please contact me via e-mail or post here. Depending on the feedback I receive, we will either continue or fold camp. I hope to finish the playoffs and then start a brand new league with 2k2, with a whole new admin staff and modified rules and a brand new name. I also hope to bring back the core of the league and recruit more reliable members, but I will need good help from everyone to make it work. Everyone has time to respond until this Friday, September 21st. I'll understand with whatever respond you give me. I understand many have some new responsibilities and some just do not give time to the DC anymore.
Either way, thanks to everyone who made this league fun.
