League Rules
First of all we will need for you to register for EZboard....if you are using AOL and are having problems go the the EZboard help page FAQ and they have the answer there. Herein are the rules and policies that will guide us through our first season in the XBL. Periodically, we will gather feedback to determine if any of the rules need adjusting.

We have ZERO TOLERANCE for breaking or even “bending?any of the rules. Upon receiving the very first substantiated claim of a XBL member breaking or “bending?any of the rules, the offender will be immediately removed from the XBL. There are no warnings or probationary periods.

I do not anticipate having any problems from members and I look forward to playing with everyone. The policies governing season operations and member’s conduct are below.

Playing Games
Understand that playing games in the XBL is NOT just a quick-thrill experience. XBL games will involve a healthy amount of pre-game, during-game, and post-game work.

1. Before we play any games and once you are registered in EZboard you need to place your schedule of times you can play and what time zone you are. Also place other information as your sega.net name, AIM name, email...etc. The away team of each game IS REQUIRED to go the the forum of their scheduled opponent (the home team) and set up a time ..either by the forum; email; or IM.

2. Each member will play 34 total games in the season. This will be carried out by playing 3 games each week. This will lead to 11 weeks of 3 games each week. There will be a 12th week that will only have 1 games played.

3. As stated, each person will play 3 games in a week. The week will begin on Thursday and will end on the following Wednesday. The order that you play the games in, for that week, doesn't matter. However, you cannot play next weeks games before completing the all of current weeks games.

4. If, by Monday, you weren't able play your scheduled opponent, then the person that didn't show will need to email the XBL staff explaining why he didn't show.

5. The person(s) who couldn't show will be given a loss if his reason is a good one. If his reason isn’t valid (as determined by the XBL staff ), he will be removed from the League. The XBL will take over his franchise. For this not to happen don't wait until the last day to play your games do them early and if something comes up you will still have time to reschedule. We are reasonable people if it happens once its ok but after that you will be on the bubble.

Incomplete Games
If you’re disconnected during a contest, obviously you’re supposed to get back in the lobby as soon as you can and finish the game.

However, if it’s far enough along and the person that’s losing is willing to concede defeat, then the game does NOT have to be finished. The admission of defeat is enough.

Gathering Stats
In order to keep it simple we are cutting down the stats to 6 categories. Points, Assists, Rebounds, Steals, Blocks, 3’s made. The XBL will keep track of all these statistics so check the League Standings and Stats often to see how your team and players are doing (don’t forget to write down the final score also). You are REQUIRED to take stats for all your 5 STARTERS...if you want to take stats for all your players do so..if only 6 or 7 thats fine..you are only REQUIRED for the starters; after that its up to you. The winner is supposed to write down stats for both teams (that what you get for beating your opponent). Also if your opponent wants you to post stats for all his player you should do so. Post the stats in the Game Results Forum. Try to turn in the stats ASAP; it makes it a lot easier.

If a XBL owner is found to habitually record inaccurate statistics, he will be removed from the XBL. The XBL will take over his franchise until a replacement is found.

Injuries rarely happen in NBA2K1 so we are going to keep track of them. So at the end of a game if a player is injured report that also. Since you don't have to play games in chronological order (but I suggest you attempt to); injuries will concur to the following games in your schedule. If you are seen to be avoiding games with your injured players expect to get a loss for those games.

Disconnections, Incomplete Games, and Lag
If the game is particularly laggy, then it is required for the owners to record stats at the end of EACH QUARTER. In this way, if the game disconnects and it has to be continued, then they will at least have the stats up until the previous quarter.

If the game isn’t going to be completed because a disconnection occurred and the loser concedes defeat, then the stats are based on the average of what’s been accumulated so far. So for each statistical category, total what each player has, divide that by the number of quarters successfully completed, and then distribute that number for the remaining quarters.

If following the above formula results in a higher point tally for the team that admits defeat, then the points for the leading scorer of the team that should win be adjusted. He will be given just enough points to give his team a one-point victory.

Online Conduct
This is an area where we don’t really have too much to say. You are free to “talk?( type really ) whatever you want. However, keep in mind that your opponent may be offended by excessive swearing and bickering. If he makes this known to you, then by all means respect his wishes and discontinue the foul language for bickering. We’re leaving this to be governed by the rules of “Common Courtesy. So that means no racial slurs or any kind of demeaning remarks about anybody. If you are accused of this you are GONE!!! Also if you accuse somebody of this falsely you will be GONE!!!

MAKE SURE YOU USE THE PROPER FORUM FOR YOU QUESTIONS AND PROBLEMS. TO DISCUSS SOMETHING USE THE "GENERAL DISCUSSION" FORUM. FOR PROBLEMS USE THE "HELP" FORUM. AND YOU CAN ALWAYS EMAIL ONE OF US.

We will reward the last place team in each division with special recognition at the XBL Website. The last place teams will also automatically have 1st rights of refusal for all franchises the following season. This is going to be a lottery draft based on record and team rating.
