Kyra, The Bloody Sandstorm
Name: Veoddyn
Contact information: form.of.breaking@gmail.com
Character's name: Kyra
Age Upon Entering/At Death: 16
Age Now: 16
Race: Avatar
Appearance:
Kyra stands at an average 5’ 6” and weighs 110 pounds. She is not built for physical combat, as her muscle structure isn’t impressive by any standards. She has vibrant dark red hair and sandy yellow eyes that stand out against her black toned skin. She isn’t dark as in fade from white to brown to dark… but literally black, almost grayscale. She has light grey tattoo’s that cover her body randomly, and prefers to wear one of the two extremes for fitting clothing. Either it is very form fitting, like her top which is midnight black, or very open and loose, which her white two piece skirt shows. She wears a pair of sun-bleached blue boots, and has a vibrant orange headpiece that keeps her hair in place a little. She also wears a tan cloth interlaced belt on both her waist to keep her skirt fastened, as well as at the bottom of her top, which still reveals a lot of her stomach. The top is held up by a metal loop that is attached to a similar cloth choker, as well as a pair of cloth bracers on her wrists. Hidden under her top is a powerful looking red stone, Kunzite, which holds the powerful Sand Incarnate that she is forced to deal with on a day to day basis. This stone glows when in combat or at the sight of blood…
Personality:
Kyra is probably one of the most cold and vicious people in this world. She has grown up to believe that she is an Avatar of Blood in life, a Force of Death, and carries herself in that way even after death. If anyone gets in her way, and they aren’t worth her time, she will kill them. The first impression someone would get is a Red Cloaked freak, but those who have seen her fight usually regard her in fear and/or respect. She will tolerate the truly bloodthirsty slightly more than others, but if they impede her progress, she believes them to be going against the call of Blood, and as such, will kill them. Kyra is usually in a quiet and scary state, never saying much, and often enough, just being rude because she doesn’t care what others think. Anytime there is a good fight brewing or a large amount of blood though she becomes excited and maniacal, making those who are fighting her a bit unnerved. She also has one fear… and that is falling asleep. It would allow the Sand Incarnate to possess her body, and thus allow it to wreak havoc as it wishes, and make her lose herself little by little. One of the ways she pleases the demon within is consuming blood with her sand, sating his eternal thirst, and easing the pressure he constantly applies to her mind.
Because she has never been injured or in pain, she thinks of herself as an unstoppable force, and as thus looks down on others. This sort of persona suits her though, as she is probably one of the strongest mages of her living time. Even after death, she continues with the same personality, unsure of what has happened, and thinking someone has cast her under an illusion spell or sent her to an alternate universe. To her it doesn’t matter though, as long as there is someone to spill blood.
Biography
Kyra was born near midnight within the endless sands that made up the Dune Sea of her world and the moment she was born, not only did her mother die, but she also seemed to have been possessed for a moment, as the woman’s voice changed when she told her husband what her daughter’s name was to be. Han, Kyra’s father, a wealthy merchant, was saddened at the loss of his wife, and in a sick sense, blamed Kyra for her death. Kyra was born with very dark skin with light tattoos that littered her body, as well as a small red stone implanted in the center of her chest, right under her collar bones.
For the first year of her life, a maid of Han’s was responsible for taking care of Kyra. When she turned one, an accident occurred on Kyra’s birthday, as a book case nearly crushed the crib she was in. The shield of sand protected her from harm, but in utter fear Kyra freaked out, and tore the room asunder with sand, including the maid. Han entered the room just as the storm subsided, just in time to see the maid’s hand slip under the sand and disappear. The sand subsided, and took the appearance of a dull red blanket that wrapped around Kyra. Considering the damage, Han made a decision. She was too dangerous to be let loose in her current mindset, and perhaps after a few years of growing up her emotions would be a bit more stable. With that in mind, she was put in the basement in a caged cell, which Han had enchanted with wards to keep the sand, or Kyra, from escaping. Little did he know the more he had her caged the worse off it was going to be…
Kyra stayed in that cage for 15 more years, having to deal with her inner demons constantly, and eventually giving in to them. She became cold and full of hatred, especially for her father, who kept her there for that very reason. What did she do to deserve this… she hadn’t asked to be born different; she just was… why was it his right to keep her here? It didn’t matter though… she would be unleashed upon the world soon… as her powers had manifested in this time too. The seals that held her were beginning to weaken, but she secretly hoped she would get to destroy her father soon…
Unknown to her, a powerful clan of wizards had imbued the cage that if under any given time the seals were to wear off, a black hole would appear momentarily inside of the cage, killing Kyra instantaneously, and ending her threat. When one of them fell off, Kyra awoke… free… in the realm of Second Chances.
Powers, if any:
Sand Manipulation
Kyra, quite simply, can manipulate sand. Normally she will use it to crush her opponents and keep herself from harm, using four basic moves that seem to be her signature. The first offensive move she likes to use is Desert Coffin, which wraps the target opponent in layers of sand. The Second is Desert Funeral, which makes the sand implode on the target, causing them to explode in a way if airborne. Usually the sand will then grind their bodies into the sand, making it disappear completely.
Defensively, there are two moves that Kyra uses. The first of which is controlled by her contained demon, and that is Sand Shield. She can control it if she wants, but normally this will protect her from most attacks, even against her will. The second is a layer of sand that seems to hover around her wrists, which will move quickly and block or at least cushion a blow that makes it through the Shield of Sand.
Kyra can do other things as well, but she would have to think about it and make it.
Light Wind Power
Kyra can control wind around her slightly, allowing her to make her signature sand storm in battle.
Weapons, if any:
Sand – Wherever Kyra goes, the blood sand goes, and usually it condenses and disguises itself as a large dark red cloak that will dissolve into her sand when needed.
Additional information:
(A little Insight) (Sample RP)
Kyra sat in her cage, glaring at the door… waiting. She knew that she was waiting in vain, and returned stabbing the wall that kept her contained. She had a knife of condensed sand, the knife itself not really capable of doing any damage to the barrier. The wards placed on it could only be touched from the outside, and kept any magic that was within it inside. She had tried many times to break out in frustration, but to no avail. She didn’t have enough room to perform anything really strong… and not enough sand to pressure the seals on all sides… So she sat, stabbed, and waited… hoping that one of these cursed seals would fade… just one would be enough… and then he would die… by her hands he would die most painfully.
They would all die eventually and why not by her hands? They were not anything important, and quite honestly, she wasn’t one to be stopped by anyone. She wanted everyone dead… and she anxiously hoped for someone that might pose a good challenge, as she had heard stories of great warriors, angels and demons by listening to the walls. In this house, the walls were mostly stone, and thus if you listened carefully, you could hear what was going on a floor above the cell.
Growing tired of waiting, gritted her teeth. She couldn’t even sleep to pass the time… because it would take control… and every time that happened she awoke nearly suffocating because the sand not being able to go anywhere… She wasn’t sure what it did when it took over, but it scared her, but she had finally conquered sleep, and no longer required it to live like she used to…
Now she would wait… and hope that the bastard didn’t remember to renew the wards like the wizard had warned him to do… or that someone broke into the home, and let her out… But for their own sake, they had better let her kill that bastard who caged her here…
"People who think there insane are actually quite normal people trying to fake it. It's the ones that don't know it and are completely unpredictable you want to watch out for..."
"Being normal is so boring... Insanity... now thats fun!"
"The white city fell without her. Peace revolved around her, but when the mother left her children, they destroyed one another... She'll never forget that she left--she'll wear the chains of the martyr as she pulls the world's weight behind her, still thinking she's not doing enough." Morrigan Aensland
