Appearance:
Julian is a slender man with a long braid that he often wears swinging against his coat. He has pale skin and violet eyes, which only serve to accentuate the odd light blue of his hair and slightly otherworldly flavor to his presence.
He favors the style of clothing common to Victorian England, greatcoat, waistcoat, nicely ironed trousers, polished shoes, and a pocket watch. His pocket watch is silver, with an engraving in the cover, which he never displays to anyone.
He's not terribly good at tying a cravat either, and has often been known to wear the same linen for several days in a row, at least until his housekeeper Charlotte moved in. He doesn't wear any jewelry, at least not beyond his signature silver buttons which he has moved from one waistcoat to another.
Personality:
Julian is reclusive, shy to the point of being fumbling in front of persons of merit or status. He loves books and knowledge, fine art, music, roses, especially roses, animals, and children. He is vegetarian, and while he occasionally shares meals with his staff, for the most part, he dines alone.
He is particularly partial to ginger candies and has been known not to share them when he's gotten hold of some. While he's helpful to those that ask, he often feels the slightest shadow guilt when he interferes in others lives. This he feels arises from habits or understandings held in previous life which still visits him in his current life.
Biography:
If there is one book that Julian will never write, it is the history of his own life. For books, once written often find their way into the most unlikely of hands and once read are never to be truly forgotten. His death before coming to Second Chances was unpleasant and that would be another reason he'd not write his biography, because in so doing, he would be forced to relive the feelings and experiences of that event.
Suffice it to say that his death came about in a particularly brutal fashion, in a back alley of London when Victoria was Queen of England. Just prior to the encounter which lead to his death, he'd been at protest against medical experiments on dogs. He'd been quite a bit younger then and more inclined to speak his mind. The speech, which he delivered for the cause that day, surely must be in some book, somewhere in the universe, but he would never repeat it to a soul.
Often in his dreams, his own voice will speak the worlds again, inexorably sliding towards darker words from angrier souls. "We must always see beyond what small illusions hold together our morality, and see the larger truths that truth and life belong to all, and when those more willing towards violence deprive others of life and truth only a deepening harm grows within all."
As one of the first twelve to arrive in Second Chances, he has worked tirelessly towards goals of education, art, equality, truth, and freedom. He often seeks out new arrivals to learn of their worlds as much as to welcome them.
Powers, if any: He has a nearly flawless memory for written material, books in particular.
Weapons, if any: Does a quill count? One large sword, enchanted to radiate sunlight, for which he is constantly in regret that he did not go to Koltana for advice before buying.
