I'm Sheila
Hi,

I was just cruising around ezboard and found my way here. I'm a member of another autism board but there really aren't many out there and there is such a need for it. The other board has saved my sanity a thousand times over. The rest of the parenting world just has no idea!

I have two kids, an (almost) 11 year old son and a six year old diagnosed, among other things, with PDD-NOS. I live in Oklahoma (noticed somebody else said they did as well) but am from California originally. Sorry, not a military wife. I work full time outside the home as does my husband and finding child care a special needs child has been a challenging task at times.

I really hope that this board takes off for you. If you'd like I can ask the admin at the other board if I can post a link to this board over there to help get some members.

Sheila

Re: I'm Sheila
Hey there Sheila!

Welcome to our new board. I would love any added exposure to gain more members. I am hoping to keep this board intimate and small, but enough members to have regular posting, dialogue and support.

Sounds to me you have your hands full. I am sure that finding child care is not the only obstacle you face in your life.

I hope that you become an active member and help me get this going. You are so right...there are not many boards out there support parents and families dealing with day to day living with Autism. There are, however, a zillion parenting boards. I went searching, and found a minimal amount of support boards, so I decided to take on the task, and created Moms United in Autism Awareness.

I have an 8 year old little girl, and no, she is not Autistic. However, I am an ABA Therapist, and I see first hand on a daily basis the struggles of families who have an Autistic child/children.

Thank you so much for your support, your interest in our community, and for volunteering to help get the word out. I am beyond grateful!

In Friendship,
Jenn
