I am her only voice and protector
Hi, I'm genni's mom. She was diagnosed at seventeen months old. The doctor was very cold and callous, told me there was no need to bring her back because there was nothing he could do for her. And just like that my world shifted and i found myself wandering through the maze that is autism. You know how it is your really not getting anywhere, especially with doctors, but you are making good time.
my husband and i have five children. 3 from his first marriage. The oldest is disabled also but with a different disorder. Genni is a beautiful little girl who beyond the autism has a sassy attitude about life. But most people don't see her they see the disorder, the disease. And that makes me angry.
I am supposed to introduce myself but this is all i know right now. i as a person, an individual, ceased to exist the minute I realized my child was different. Who am I? I am genni's voice.
