How is your SO
Is your SO helpful with your autistic child?
Do they accept the diagnosis?
How involved are they?
If divorced is your ex supportive, helpful and accepting of the diagnosis?
As for me....
My ex (the bio father) is not involved. He never has been even, before the diagnosis. For some reason he was just never interested in the baby after we split when he was just a few months old. We have two children together and he is somewhat involved with the older child (not ASD). His only response when I've tried to tell him something was wrong was it was either my "bad genes" or his favorite, I'm just a terrible mother.
My SO is very involved, helpful and accepting. Coming in as an outsider, he was the 1st to broach the subject with me that something appeared to not be right with my son. We've been together about 6 years (including the dating days) and our son will be 7 in December so he's been involved pretty much the entire time. Corbin calls him "dad" and isn't aware that "Zack's dad" is also his biological father.
It seems you're having some trouble
In dealing with these changes
Living with these changes (oh no)
