Hello everyone.
Hello. My name is Kelly. I have a 17 month old son, Jordan who was dx yesterday with Autism Disorder, provisional.
I am just looking to talk to other moms with children with this problem to cope, and for reassurance.
When we went in for our evaluation, I was thinking Jordan was just a little delayed. I wasn't thinking this. I wasn't prepared, and didnt even think anything like this could be wrong. So, we are trying to cope, and I look forward to talking to you ladies, and sharing experiences,a nd ideas.
Thank you!!!

Kelly

Re: Hello everyone.
Kelly,

Welcome! I am so glad you have joined us. We are a new group, and things are slowly getting started.

I'm Jenn, and I am an ABA Therapist. I work with a family that has two children dealing with Autism. This family is such an inspiration to me.

Just remember that you are not alone. I hope that you make many new friends here and find the support you are searching for!

In Friendship,
Jenn

Re: Hello everyone.
Thank you so much for the welcome!
I am glad there is an ABA therapist on this board. That way you can answer my questions and reassure me that what these people will be doing to my son is fine. lol

Re: Hello everyone.
When you first get the dx it's as if someone is hitting you in the stomach over and over. But then you realize o.k I can handle this and you can!!!My son Tyler is 8 he was dx when he was almost 3, There have been good and bad days along the road. Having an outlet to discuss everything is a must.Any questions you may have just ask.
