Gorillas announce exhibition game schedule
GORILLAS TO PLAY TWO EXHIBITION GAMES VERSUS ARCH-RIVAL COTTON KINGS
AMARILLO, TX Hockey fever has hit the Panhandle as training camp for the 2003-2004 Amarillo Gorillas is less than one week away.
Fans will be able to see their Gorillas play two exhibition games against their arch-rival Lubbock Cotton Kings, including one at The Jungle in the Amarillo Civic Center.
The Gorillas will travel to Lubbock to face the new look Cotton Kings with Head Coach Kirk Tomlinson next Friday, Oct. 10 at 7 p.m. at the Lubbock Municipal Coliseum. This will be the first year that the Cotton Kings will not be lead by either Bill McDonald or Tracy Egeland.
The game can be heard live on the new flagship station of the Amarillo Gorillas Hot. 99.7 FM and also on the world wide web at www.amarillogorillas.com, beginning with Gorillas Game Night at 6:40 p.m. The face-off for the pre-season tilt is set for 7 p.m with the voice of the Gorillas Denis J. Puska calling all of the exciting action.
The two teams will play their second exhibition encounter on Tuesday, Oct. 14 at 7 p.m. at The Jungle in the Amarillo Civic Center. Tickets are just $5 for this game and fans are encouraged to come out and support the Gorillas.
Tickets for the game will be available at the new Gorillas’ offices located at 1934 Civic Circle on I-40 and Georgia, Civic Center Box Office and Panhandle Ticket Outlets located inside United Supermarkets across the Amarillo Region. Fans can charge by phone 242-7825 or 378-3096.
The two teams will then hook up in the Gorillas’ season opener on Saturday, Oct. 18 at 7 p.m. at the Lubbock Municipal Coliseum. All of the action can be heard on Hot 99.7 FM beginning with Gorillas Game Night at 6:40 p.m.
