French 3 and 4 2nd Semester Portfolio Project 2006
You will work on this project in groups of two or three. You may use only the French that you have learned in your three or four years of French. Please do not use “outside” sources (i.e. translator programs).

Having watched several episodes of “Téléfrançais” and knowing how much you adore M. Ananas, it is time to write the final chapter of this delightful French program.

•        Choose one of the following formats to present the final chapter to “Téléfrançais”
o        Storybook
o        Video
o        Puppet Show

•        For the STORYBOOK please include the following elements
o        There should be a total of 10 pages with an average of 4 sentences per page. This means you may have 3 sentences on one page and 5 sentences on another page. The total sentences should be forty.
o        There should be a total of 7 pictures that correspond to your story. You may draw, cut out the pictures or use clip art to illustrate your story.
o        This story should use the following tenses
•        Present tense (a minimum of 8 sentences should be in the present tense)
•        Passé Composé (a minimum of 10 sentences should be in this tense)
•        Imparfait (a minimum of 10 sentences should be in this tense)
•        Subjunctive (one sentence minimum please)
•        You may choose the tense that best fits your story for the other remaining sentences.

•        For the VIDEO OR PUPPET SHOW please include the following elements
o        You will need to create/borrow your own puppets for this presentation. The puppet you choose should somewhat resemble the characters they are portraying. For example, “Malibu Barbie” cannot play the role of Ananas.
o        The video presentation or puppet show should be memorized. Do not read from a poster or cheat sheet. There should be no “dead air” time.
o        The video or puppet show should be three to four minutes in length
o        Be original and creative but PLEASE no inappropriate body exposure or crude behavior.
o        This story should use the following tenses
•        Present tense (no more than 12 sentences should be in the present tense)
•        Passé Composé (a minimum of 8 sentences should be in this tense)
•        Imparfait (a minimum of 8 sentences should be in this tense)
•        Subjunctive (two sentence minimum please)

•        To guide you along as to WHAT TO WRITE, here are some questions and ideas you may want to address in your presentation –
o        What happens to Jacques?
o        What happens to Sophie?
o        What happens to Ananas?
o        What is their final adventure?
o        Where do they go?
o        What happens on their final adventure?

•        Conjugate the verbs correctly
•        NO DIRECT TRANSLATION – DICTIONARITIS – AUTOMATIC ZERO

Due dates are as follows –

•        Draft #1 – (pen or pencil copy of script) - _____________________________
•        Draft #2 – (ink or typed copy of script with revisions) - __________________
•        Draft #3 – (ink or typed copy of script with revisions) - __________________
•        Draft #4 – (typed copy of script along with video/puppet show/storybook) _____________________
•        Please note – if you are doing a puppet show, then will have the puppet shows presented on May__________, 200__________
