French 2 Portfolio 2nd Semester
IMPORTANT: You must show that you followed the writing process by turning in all drafts. The final product should include:
• Draft 1: Brainstorm-initial draft
• Draft 2: First copy
• Draft 3: Second draft (Revision of first copy)
• Final copy-done on computer NO EXCEPTIONS
ASSIGNMENT #1
• Your Very Own Family Tree: Make a family tree illustrating your relationship to your family members. You must have a minimum of 10 family members on your family tree. (Mother, father, brothers, sisters, cousins, aunts, uncles, family pets, etc.) On the family tree, write, in complete sentences, the name of the person, the relationship to you, and paste a picture of the person above the description. To make this tree unique to you, use famous people instead of your own family members.
Exemple – Je m’appelle Christina Aguilera . Mon mari s’appelle Garfield.
Ma soeur s’appelle Minnie Mouse. Mon frère s’appelle Orlando Bloom.
ASSIGNMENT #2
• Describe five family members: Include a picture of the person. The picture can be an actual photo or a picture from a magazine. Include the following information: age, physical description, personality, favorite pastimes, where they live and their likes and dislikes.
ASSIGNMENT #3
• Film Summary: Choose a film that you have recently seen either in the theater or on DVD. Find 5 pictures from THAT movie. Write 3 sentences for each picture, describing what happened. Use ONLY the past tense (passé composé) and ONLY verbs you have learned. You must use a minimum of TEN DIFFERENT VERBS. Five verbs must be with the verb avoir and five verbs must be with être AND 2 verbs must have irregular past participles.
ASSIGNMENT #4
• Biography/filmography of your favorite celebrity: Visit the French website www.cinemotions.com and choose your favorite celebrity from THAT SITE ONLY. Write a short biography of the person you chose and be sure to include the following information:
 the name of the actor (first and last name)
 his/her date of birth
 his/her place of birth (be as specific as you can be – city, state, country)
 his/her current residence (city, state or country)
 his/her family (brothers, sisters, parents, etc)
 his/her astrological sign
 Things that he or she has done in his/her career (films, television. etc. – list a minimum of 3 items)
 Why did you choose this person? (Give 2 reasons)
 What is your favorite film/show that this person has done and tell me why
