Finally! Somewhere to vent
So I am in this relationship...and I am incredibly happy most of the time! But then there are times...like right now...that I'm just miserable. And I wonder what makes me even stay.

I moved in with my boyfriend and when I did that, I isolated myself from all my friends. I didn't really stop to think about what it would mean to come to a whole new town...and I don't know anybody. It really sucks.

When we fight...like right now...I have nowhere to turn! And I belong to lots of forums and stuff....but he knows about all of them. Maybe, just maybe, I could find someone here to talk to...and I might have a haven of my own to go to.....

Hey soxie (cool name!)

Well hopefully we can help you out and try and be that haven.
I totally understand your situation, I guess a lot of the people on this forum have no one to turn to even if our circumstances are different (that's why we're here ;) )

What makes you miserable in your relationship? Is it the fact that you have no alone time from your boyfriend? No time to spend with your girl friends?
What makes your happiness fade?

Do you still talk to your friends by phone or IM? Would that help at all? I know it wouldn't be the same but maybe it would help a little.

I think it might be worth making some new friends, it's a slowish process and takes time but it is something you can certainly do.

What have you done to try and meet some new friends? Are you at college? Do you work?
You could join a gym or just go to some yoga classes or something. You could join a nature society or an outdoors type society (maybe hiking or rock climbing). A bookclub?

Maybe when you get your haircut you could tell the hairdresser you're new in town and would like to meet some new people... maybe she'd say "come out with my friends and I" ?

See...the thing is, I am not usually unhappy in this relationship. Most of the time, we are incredibly happy. We laugh, and talk, and it's wonderful. :)

It's just that when we DO fight...which is not very often, but of course with all relationships....everyone fights, and when we do....I have nowhere to go.

I have distanced myself from pretty much all my friends..and I am not even sure why. :|

Maybe you just distanced yourself from your friends because that was a way to deal with losing them to the distance - maybe it would have been harder for you to cope with missing them if you had kept in contact with them.

Well maybe you could try catching up with your friends again?

Do you find it easy to make friends? Would meeting new people be an option?

Yeah as you say couples do fight. So this is all the more reason to seek some support and find people.

Re:
I guess for now you can try to continue venting here until you have some friends around you. Also communicating via e-mail with old friends for now should help.
Although it is difficult, I know. I was in a similar situation some time ago, then I found friends, now I'm losing them...
Maybe it is truly the cycle of life and we need to get used to it. It is very dynamic world, so it is difficult to find true friends quicly.
