I want to try some 5 and 8K florin games and also see if anyone takes me up on my .org challenge of playing a 5K, High Era, game where my enemy can take his best all-cav army and use any cav exploits he likes/knows and I will take an all-unupgraded peasant army and 1 gen cav unit and win.
I think it can be done, since I know a little bit about mass and volume and how the TW engine looks at things. It takes a lot more units now then in MTW to give the enemy units a large enough morale hit to make them want to break. With a 19 60-man peasant army (1140 peasants) vs. 32 x 5 = (160 cav) on small unit size, I think it would be close to enough to routing the cav after a small fight. I think the magic number for the "outnumbered" morale hit is 10 times the enemy to bring a Knight unit to the "Shaken" state. Would have to test to make sure though. I guess I will find out tonight! hehe

if your opponent takes low end cav archers and light cav you might be in trouble elmo... the cav army of the timurids at five or 8 k can field a strong army, i'll try it on you tonight!

sounds like fun, but I think Goat is right-- its going to be tough against HA. Not to mention that your mob of peasants is going to be difficult to control with so many units (compared to a more concentrated cav army).

Cav archers and regular mixed armies will kill my peasant army quite easily I'm afraid, but ole Pariya said he could win with just all knight cav units, so I took him up on it. Now my poor little peasants can take out those knight cavs quite handily. If I knew the other guy was going to get cav archers, I would have to probably go with the English and grab a few longbowmen units. Though I still might be able to field a pretty large contingent of peasants after that. Would be interesting to find out. I think I will try different peasant builds to see if they work out ok. hehe

I have done a little bit of investigating into one area which I am not sure anyone has thought to delve for M2TW. I will let you know when I have finished.

I played him last night at $2k, I took either mongols or timurids (I forget) and spent all my money on peasants except for 1 naffatun (naptha thrower). He took 3 magyar cavalry. He mopped the floor with me; I had a total of 24 kills
I dont think this is going to be as easy as you expected Elmo. Then again, you are far more creative on the field than I am. I'm hoping you can work some magic!

The secret is to get the better peasants (European) and you have to keep them massed together. If you get them the least bit separated you will die. If you see me online, I will try it with you. Those 90-florin peasants are not very good and break way too easily. All those peasant rush armies I played in MTW come in handy now. hehe

Hey! I'm a peasant connoisseur! You don't want just ANY ole peasant out there running around in large groups.
If I knew the other guy was going to get cav archers, I would have to probably go with the English and grab a few longbowmen units. Though I still might be able to field a pretty large contingent of peasants after that. Would be interesting to find out.
