Current conference standings, potential playoff matchups
Well folks, our regular season is beginning to draw to a close. There are still many battles to be fought, but it is hard for myself and others not to look forward to the 2nd season, and what matchups could occur. Although some may find this premature, I have decided to reveal the current conference standings, as well as a preview of the playoff matchups to come. The standings and playoff matchups are based on every reported game so far.

WESTERN CONFERENCE STANDINGS

1st) Minnesota Timberwolves (18-2)
2nd) Phoenix Suns (15-2), 1.5 games back of first
3rd) Houston Rockets (14-7), 4.5 games back
4th) Sacramento Kings (15-8) , 4.5 games back
5th) Utah Jazz (11-6), 5.5 games back
6th) Dallas Mavericks (13-9), 6.0 games back
7th) Los Angeles Lakers (11-8) , 6.5 games back
8th) San Antonio Spurs (13-11), 7.0 games back

As you can see, 3rd to 8th place is VERY congested, with only 2.5 games seperating those 6 teams. By the way, the reason that Houston is ahead of Sacto in the standings is because Houston defeated Sacramento in their regular season game.

STILL IN THE HUNT:

9th) Seattle Supersonics (10-11), 1.5 games back of 8th
10th) Los Angeles Clippers (9-12), 2.5 games back of 8th
11th) Golden State Warriors (7-11), 3.0 games back of 8th

CURRENT PLAYOFF MATCHUPS:

Minnesota Timberwolves vs San Antonio Spurs (Prediction: Twolves in 4)

Sacramento Kings vs Utah Jazz (Jazz in 5)

Houston Rockets vs Dallas Mavericks (Mavericks in 5)

Phoenix Suns vs Los Angeles Lakers (Too close to call)

EASTERN CONFERENCE STANDINGS

1st) Milwaukee Bucks (19-6)
2nd) Miami Heat (15-5), 1.5 games back of 1st
3rd) Indiana Pacers (13-7), 3.5 games back of 1st
4th) New York Knicks (11-7), 4.5 games back of 1st
5th) Boston Celtics (9-8), 6.0 games back
6th) Charlotte Hornets (10-9), 6.0 games back
7th) Orlando Magic (11-11), 6.5 games back
8th) New Jersey Nets (8-10), 7.5 games back

STILL IN THE HUNT:

9th) Washington Wizards (7-11), 1.0 game back of 8th
10th) Cleveland Cavs (7-11), 1.0 game back of 8th
11th) Atlanta Hawks (8-13), 1.5 games back of 8th

What will be very interesting to watch in the Eastern conference is what teams manage to get ahold of the final 4 spots in the conference. There's basically 7 teams fighting for those final 4 spots. The big 4 in the east have all but solidified their home court advantages. Another interesting thing to look for is whether or not Wycle can steal the #1 spot from Chris.

CURRENT PLAYOFF MATCHUPS:

Milwaukee Bucks vs New Jersey Nets (Prediction: Bucks in 3)

New York Knicks vs Boston Celtics (Prediction: Knicks in 4)

Indiana Pacers vs Charlotte Hornets (Hornets in 5)

Miami Heat vs Orlando Magic (Heat in 4)

There you have it folks. Expect updates on the current conference standings weekly/biweekly. Feel free to leave any comments below :)

Well Kiyama, the current standings are based on all reported games. So, I win, you lose, because your games aren't reported. I'm the champion! You are but a peasant to my greatness! Hehe, just kidding. :)

Go Sabres!

Im guessing the Philly team I picked up is out of the hunt for sure, they were 4-14 but maybe if the west teams keep stomping the other east teams like they have been then I might have a chance

Wassup, you've been a very pleasant surprise. Keep beating those teams and you're definitely in the hunt.

Unless he wins all his games, which is almost impossible with the way some people play.

ok Im out for sure now,Ive lost a bunch of games in a row,I been playing so bad, against the heat Iverson was in foul trouble because the heat owner was so dam good at taking charges so Iverson lost like 5 minutes in that game, against the nets owner he had this little jump infront of the pass thing going really good which was kind of cheap looking, and against the magic today I got hit with a double team and my guys wouldnt cut to the basket so I had to do it all with Ivy and I ended up bricking like over half my shots, them 3 owners were really good
