Crossbow scout...
This sounded like an interesting build, so I've got my aracoix scout up to r3 using a heavy crossbow. I knew it wouldn't be optimal, but I thought it would be fun & different.
The x-bow is ridiculously slow, and the nice 'rapid fire' effect doesn't work with it (only 'regular' bows). On top of that, it seems to grab agro from every monster in sight.
Are bows that much better? Should I ditch this guy and start a bow scout instead? Are crossbows ever viable?
I think the worst thing about crossbows is that they use a tremendous amount of stamina. Since Aracoix got a boost to stamina, it might not be a bad idea. I am not sure what level powers Scouts get Xbow at? I know they get GM bow powers.
Xbows are viable, mainly due to the double hit they produce. I have a level 37 Xbow WW Warrior who does an insane amount of damage, although I run out of stamina very quickly.

Thanks Morb. I am a little happier now that I got crossbow up to 100% and got a decent xbow of alacrity. Still a little on the slow side, but like you said, good damage from the two hits...
