City Descriptions [Nureese & Anarab]
Nureese
Home sweet home. The general housing District of Nureese is extremely large with narrow, hard to navigate streets. Dark alleys in this town are abundant as well as dead end streets. Broken street lights are left shattered at the top of tall, spindly black iron light poles, some bent in places, leading one to wonder exactly what feat of strength curved the hard metal so easily. Apartment complexes that were once pure brick have the black stain of soot and smut on their faces, as well as many other buildings that are not routinely pressure washed to remove the stains. It is from the industrial run off and various smokes that the city has taken on the darkened hue that it is known for, the streets and buildings often turning black. The engineers of the city haven’t yet found a material that will resist the stain, yet, they keep searching.
The Industrial District. Warehouses and factories rise above the skyline of other buildings, boasting large columns of smoke above them. No effort is made to control the pollutants, whether it be for the sake of producing more at less cost or for the mere selfish reason of wanting to destroy this world even faster than once thought possible. From little less than a century of run off, a strange green goo rises from the sewer grates on the streets and can often be found in the gutters and along the very roads people traverse each day. Also packed into this section of town are various businesses of less than reputable standing, including a hospital with some dire secrets.
Anarab
Home sweet home. Homes in Anarab, unless built by particularly wealthy members of society are usually apartment complexes made entirely of sandstone bricks, many complexes scrawled with graffiti and obscenities. The streets themselves are usually nothing more than hard packed sand from the constant travel of inhabitants around them and the hot sun beating down against them. Community baths are featured in many living establishments due to the scarcity of water unless it comes from wells dug deep into the ground. It is unusual for anything in Anarab to look unlike anything else, though in the most posh communities, an enormous effort is made to change that.
The Industrial District. Large buildings rise into the sky as you enter the downtown part of Anarab, most flashing with lights and other gaudy decorations. An entire air of seediness can be gathered from the businesses in the area, most depending on the bare flesh of both male and female Anarabian citizens. A few establishments, however, keep their noses clean, though they are few and far between. Nevertheless, buildings are packed in, one on top of another, in an attempt to get more people into the protection of the city, unravaged by the fierce windstorms the desert often provides.
