we dont celebrate or do holloween to a large scale here in australia ...and i really dont like it anyway so it matters little to me ... anyways these 2 boys came to our door on the night and said 'trick or treat'
and i just stood there looked at them and said "uuuuuuuuuuuuhhhhh ... that would be a trick! no treats for you here!" and i shut the door *laughs* it was the funniest thing EVER!

I think the whole dressing up thing and candy collecting is fun. I just dont agree with the whole concept of it all.
When I was in the US nannying I had kids coming to the door for candy...
At one stage I had a single parent come to the door and say "Trick or Treat" I was like... er... okay, where are the children?
He looked at me uncomfortabley and said, "She's upstairs.... not well, and demanded I do the dressing up."
I couldn't help laughing and gave him the last of my candy. He said he appreciated it and so would his little girl.
It turned out he was from down the street and he and his little girl came up to visit me the following week. It was great to get to know someone who was genuinely nice.
He was older than myself of course, 32, but he was charming and handsome and such a nice person. He was originally from Perth in Australia but had been living in the US for 12 years. is wife died of lieukemia only 3 years before.
