Building Management procedures
Certain IC members are now running our shops and trainers.

Here are some guidelines, it's much easier for me to post them here than to try and explain it all in game. A lot of things I won't even mention here, you'll figure them out in game easy enough.

You will be friended to whatever building you will help maintain. This will give you access to all of that buildings commands.

***Buiding managers will "junk " all loot sold to the vendors that you deem "not sellable".

This is typically all non-magic items and low grade loot. You will also "junk" magical items that you know from experience will not sell. Use your own judgement.

What is "junking"? 1st off... it's the most important financial aspect of our city! "Junking" loot pays the bills!

When a member sells something to the shop, he is paid 33% of the face value, and non-members are paid a lot less. So he gets 3300 gold for a 10K sword, this gold comes from the "kitty" on that vendor. When you "junk" the item, it disappears, and the guild gets the full 10K put in that buildings "kitty". So... we make 6700.

You'll learn how to "junk" by playing with the controls...

*** Building managers will create new items for possible sale, or to give away to members.

Each vendor has the ability to create both magical as well as non-magical items. A drop down menu will list what's available to be made. You can choose to make these items, but you won't know the final outcome or what magic qualities they have until it's finished. They take from minutes to days to make, depending on the item.

As your merchants rank up, they make more and better items. Daggersmiths can eventually make shadow daggers, hammersmiths make faith hammers, bowyers wind bows, armor can make windlords, etc.. At rank 7 is when the fun starts actually.

As these items are made, feel free to "junk" the junk, and either place the good stuff on the vendor to sell, or announce it in /gu and give it to members. I have no problem with you giving the stuff away, the members paid for the town afterall.

You may even find a weapon or piece of armor for yourself!

Play with this feature and have fun! Once the vendors are at R7 we'll add boards where people can sign up for certain things and you will be responsible for filling those orders.

*** You will handle and manage the buildings finances.

Each building has a "kitty" that shows how much $$ is on that building. These funds are used for a few things. They are drawn from to pay members when they sell items to the vendors, they are used to rank the buildings and vendors, and they are used to pay for items crafted by the merchants.

For this reason, it's important to ALWAYS have $ on that building's kitty beyond what will be needed for the next maintenance, as well as have extra to purchase items from members. A rule of thumb is to make sure there's 100-200k extra in the kitty ABOVE what the next maintenance will cost, and a little more the day before maintenance.

If you fall below this amount the 1st thing to do is "junk" the vendors, there's sometimes 300k-500k generated by a good junkin'.

If you fall below this amount after junking please let me know, and we will take the appropriate action. Keep in mind that the game sometimes takes maintenance fees a day BEFORE what is listed as the date.

***You will be responsible for ranking the vendors.

As long as you have enough $$ in the kitty above the required amount financially to fund and maintain your building, please rank your vendors as they become rankable. We eventually want all R7 vendors.

If you do not have enough to rank a vendor, but it is possible to do so, contact me and I'll pull the money from elsewhere.

DO NOT RANK THE HELMSMITH.

*** You WILL NOT be responsible for ranking the buildings.

Please don't rank the buildings. Besides extra HP's we don't get anything extra to rank forges above where they will hold 2 vendors.

It costs 275k a week to run a R3 forge with 2 vendors. It costs 675k a week to run a R7 forge with 3. Therefore, we can run 2 forges with 4 vendors for 550k total a week, or pay 675k a week to run a forge with 3.

Since we're not trying to squeeze all of the trainers in town we don't need to spend the extra $ for the extra space.

In the future, once we've ranked the vendors, we can discuss whether or not to rank the buildings more.

***I will sometimes take $ from your buildings to fund the tree, other building's maintenance, new buildings, and/or to put in the guild bank.

Some buildings make more $ than others, some are used for selling more than others, and some are used more for repairs. Some days one building gets business, and some days it's another.

If you feel $ is missing from your building, feel free to ask about it. I will pull $ from the more popular buildings on a regular basis to fund others.

*** In NO case ever take $ from the ToL. If we loose this asset, we can lose the entire town.

If you need $ in an emergency, please contact another IC member and see if they can pull it from their building to help you out.

If I feel $ is missing from the tree I will remove banking rights.

*** Do NOT change the buy/sell/repair prices on the vendors.

Each vendor buys and sells items at the same percentages. Please do not change these, we want consistency througout the city.

They are fair prices, and guild members both buy and sell at much better prices than in other towns and freeholds. They also get better prices than non-members.

***Friends List

NEVER, EVER, ADD ANYONE TO THE FRIENDS LIST. PERIOD.

You are to be the only person ever friended to the building, unless more than one person is managint it together. Anyone else can take the $ and cause the building to derank.

***Ban list.

In your guild options menu, you have your heraldry window. As you see people from any guilds, either friend or foe, make sure to add them to the list.

Right now anyone can buy/sell at our towns, except use the bank. This way if the enemy wants to sell or buy from our vendors they get paid and buy at enormously high prices. Of course, I've banned them from using the bank so they HAVE to sell at those terrible prices and cant bank anything. This way they must sell to us, and they must carry $ for us to gank!

We can talk about changing this...

If you would like to ban a person, guild, or nation from using the shop, you drag them from your heraldry list to the ban list on your building. Then you check the "X".

Please start adding any enemy guilds and nations to the ban list on the ToL.

Please let me know if I can help in any way, I expect a lot of questions, don't hesistate. Please let me help you as you learn the interface.
