Ashleigh (PG-13 for now...may change)
Ok. I DESPERATLY wanted to write a TB fanfic and i LOVE Ashleigh so heres a story i wrote. its not very good. Im just starting it and only have a vague idea. enjoy and please leave me ur comments or suggestions- BE NICE
“ Come on Moe! Canter Moe!” 7 year old, Rory Griffin called out to his small gray welsh pony, clucking his tongue to try to get Moe to move on into a canter.
13 year old, Ashleigh Griffin leaned against the white pickup fence, watching her younger brother.
“Heels down, Rory. Moe’s just trotting faster. Try squeezing him with your heels,” She called out.
“I’m trying. I’m trying!” Rory called, struggling to keep up with Moe’s zippy, ‘short strided’ fast trot.
“There you go, Rory!” Elaine Griffin called out, coming up to the fence, as Moe broke into a little canter. “Hey,” she said to Ashleigh nudging her.
Ashleigh sighed. “Hi,” she muttered, not taking her eyes off Moe.
Elaine frowned. “What’s wrong, Ash?” she asked.
Ashleigh sighed again. “It’s just,” She started, tucking a loose stran of her dark brown hair behind her ear. “Ever since Stardust had her foal I never seem to be riding anymore. You heard the vet. I can’t ride her until the foal’s a little older and she’s recovered from her birth,” Ashleigh paused. “So now with the show coming up. The big one in town, I wont have anyone to ride. Besides I am worried about her. I also don’t seem to be getting much attention anymore, Mom,”
Elaine was silent for a moment. “Ash. I’m sorry you don’t have anyone to ride. Dad and I understand that. Stardust will be better soon, you just wait and see. Besides the show isn’t until several weeks now. I’m sure she’ll be fine to do some light work then. If worse comes to worse you could ride Ty. But I wouldn’t be to concerned about the show if I were you, Ashleigh. What do you mean no attention? Like in terms of helping Jonas with the brood mares?” Ashleigh nodded.
It didn’t take more then ‘Ty’ to cheer Ashleigh up. Good Old Tyme was the new gelding Jonas had gotten. He was going to be a ‘pony lead’ to the other brood mares and thoroughbreds on Edgardale, the Griffins beautiful farm.
Ashleigh smiled and quickly hugged her mother. “Thanks mom! Do you uh mind watching Rory, I’m going back to the-“ Ashleigh started.
Elaine grinned. “The barn,” she finished. “Of course!”
Ashleigh smiled and rushed away.

“Whoa girl, Easy now.” Ashleigh cooed 10 minutes later. She was in Stardust’s and the foal’s stall. Luckily, Ashleigh had convinced her parents she was brave and strong enough to go inside the stall even with the giddy foal. The foal nuzzled her t-shirt lovingly in search of a carrot.
“Hey!” Ashleigh giggled. “It’s not time yet!” She gently pushed his muzzle away and gave the little star a rub on his forehead.
Just like his mother, the foal had a star on his forehead and had the same resemblance in color too!
*****NOTE: I ONLY READ SOME OF STARDUST’s FOAL SO I DIDN’T SEE WHAT COLOR HE WAS. JUST BARE WITH ME. ******
She got to work grooming and lovingly brushing her mare and her foal. Ashleigh had to be extra careful with the foal because she knew they could get feisty at times from watching and assisting her parents.
Once she was done grooming and working with them both, Ashleigh gave them each a carrot from her jeans pocket. Ashleigh always wore jeans, and always had treats in them. She scratched the foal’s chin and placed a gentle kiss on Stardust’s muzzle. “I love you, sweetie. I hope you get well soon,” Ashleigh whispered into the mare’s big ears.
“Oh hi Ashleigh!” a familiar voice called which made Ashleigh jump into the air, frightened.
“Whoa…” she called and spun around to see Jonas. “Uh hey, Jonas. Didn’t see you there!”
Jonas smiled and leaned over to ruffle her hair. He treated her like his own girl sometimes which Ashleigh liked. He was a good friend to her.
“With the foal, I suppose?” Jonas guessed.
Ashleigh nodded. “Yep! Oh yeah! I forgot to tell you! Mom said that I might be able to ride Ty and help you with them,”
Jonas nodded. “Sounds great. Ty is a really great boy. I haven’t seen him been ridden,” Jonas admitted “but I would assume that he’d be calm. By the way it’s nearly hay time! Would you like to help or are you raring to get that homework done?” He teased.
Before Ashleigh could answer Derek Griffin came in, “Homework, I suppose Ashleigh,” giving her a stern look.
Ashleigh groaned. “Please Dad? I will be really quick!”
Derek thought about this for a moment but then gave in. “Hurry up though Ash, I don’t want to take your riding privileges away!” he warned
“Yep,” she responded.

“Here you go girl, Extras tonight you lucky mare!” Ashleigh said to Go Gen, one of the many mares at Edgardale. Ashleigh tossed her, her load full of hay. She was getting extra tonight because she had done so well in the race the other day. Ashleigh stroked her calmly.
“Okay, are we nearly done?” Jonas called from the feed room.
“Nearly!” Ashleigh yelled back. “Just gotta give this hay to General, Impish and Marvy!” Quickly, Ashleigh tossed them their hay and pet each one then she scooped up Rory’s cat which had some how gotten down to the barn. AGAIN! Ashleigh’s kitten was curled up in a ball at the end of her bed. The thought of her room made her groan. Her desk was in her room, which meant homework which meant essay.
“See you later Jonas!” called Ashleigh.
“Bye!”

Ashleigh slowly walked into the warm house. The nice smell of lasagna filled the room. She pulled off her paddock boots and rushed up stairs to her room. She plopped down the cat and pet her own after feeding him. Ashleigh was about to lie down onto her bed to read her new horse magazine, Horse & Rider, when Caroline- her 15 year old sister called. “DINNER!”
Caroline was already sitting down along with Elaine and Derek when Ashleigh walked in. She plopped into her seat and helped herself to a roll.
“So how was Stardust and the foal?” Derek asked a few minutes later when everyone had their food and were munching eagerly.
“They’re great! The foal only tried to bite me once!” Ashleigh joked.
Elaine smiled. “That’s good! I remember when my mare had her first foall. A little trickster that one was! He knew every trick in the manual it seemed. Then as he grew older he won us big bucks. Such a sweet heart too, he was. It’s a shame they gave him up,” Elaine said sipping her wine. Ashleigh grinned.
“Guess what, Daddy?” Rory asked, changing the subject.
“What, Rory?” Derek paused and looked at his son.
“I cantered on Moe and we went around twice and Mom said he did a change that flew,” Rory blabbed on.
“It’s a FLYING CHANGE, silly,” Ashleigh corrected.
“Hmph,” Rory sighed.
“Well enough horse talk,” Caroline spoke up. “I got to go to the mall today. And you know what I bought? No of course you don’t. Nor would you even care! All of you are stuck up in ‘horse world’ and don’t care about MY life. I’m here you know!” Caroline practically yelled. She fled from the room.
“Caroline,” Derek called, starting to get up.
“Leave her, hon.” Elaine said patting her husband’s hand.
“Teenagers…” Ashleigh sighed, putting down her fork.
“Ashleigh, that’s not helping the situation,” Derek told her.
“May I be excused?” Ashleigh asked, heading towards the door.
“Yes you may, but its homework time remember your promise?” Elaine put in.
Ashleigh sighed and stomped up to her bedroom.

Ashleigh couldn’t concentrate on her homework. She sighed and rolled onto her stomack staring up at the ceiling. She had plastered a picture of a galloping horse and girl only a few years older then her. It was Ashleigh’s favorite picture. She would gaze up at it at night and imagine it was her and Stardust.
Instead of her homework, Ashleigh picked up the magazine then put it down. She had to do it. Then she wouldn’t even be allowed to go to the show which meant quite a bit to her. Also beating Ashley Granted, a snobby rider.
She picked up the essay she had started working on but instead of an essay it turned out to be a horse and girl with a ribbon.
“Ashleigh,” a soft voice drifted into the room.
Ashleigh quickly put down her drawing. “Uh yes um”
It was her mother. “Ashleigh,” she said in a stern voice. “What have you been doing?” She gestured towards her essay and pencil.
Ashleigh wasn’t sure if her mother could see her drawing from the doorway. Ashleigh prayed with all her might.
Luckily, it worked. Her mother went on. “Have you seen Caroline?” she asked, her voice sounding a bit concerned.
Ashleigh looked across the room. The room she shared with her older sister. Caroline’s bed was neatly made and there were absolutely no wrinkles. Ashleigh hardly ever made her bed- she was just too busy to bother. Caroline’s few stuffed animals arranged carefully in an order across the flowery dovay. All her books, magazines(mainly about boys and teens), clothes were all neatly in place, clothes hung or put away in tidy manner. Her very few posters hung on the wall. None with horses. Infact Caroline only had a few horsey things on her side.
Ashleigh on the other hand was a mess. She never bothered to clean unless her mom made her. All her belongings were sprawled across ‘her side’ in no orderly fashion whatsoever. Her posters were all over the side, that you couldn’t even see what color the wall was. Her clothes were either shoved into her dresser or on the floor.
Ashleigh didn’t concentrate on her sister. She was too busy thinking about Vikki, Stardust, Foal, her terrible grades, Ty, the show and seeing Mona Granger-her best friend to tell her, her news. “No. Why?” she choked out.

Hey this is pretty good.
But, you need to have a rating on this fan fiction. If don't have one up by tomorrow, then I will personally rate it. Don't know how to rate? Look under your username. There are three links; reply, edit, and I believe delete(I think I'm allowing you guys to delete your own posts). Click on "Edit" on the very first post you made(the one you used to make the thread), and put a rating. If you want, you may ask one of the moderators(me, coffee, rox, mel, and siggy) to rate it. We'll be more than happy to do it for you.
And please, when making a fan fiction, please only include the title of your fan fiction and the rating. Nothing else please.

“YOU’LL NEVER BELIEVE WHAT HAPPENED TO ME, LESS THEN 2 HOURS AGO!” Ashleigh pratically shouted into the phone.
She was having a conversation with her best friend Mona who lived on a farm about ½ a mile away.
“What? You got a B+ on your report card?” Mona teased, chuckling at her own little joke. Ashleigh almost never got a B+ on her report card.
“I wish! Well my parents do. Right now my average a B- or even a C+. But that’s not why I called,” Ashleigh responded, sounding a bit irrated.
“Why then?” Mona wondered.
“You’ll NEVER guess! Mom told me I could ride Ty!” Ashleigh shreiked.
“Ty?”
“Uh-huh! Isn’t it awesome?”
“Uh…yeah but wwhat- about Sstardust??”
“Oh, I cant ride her because of her birth with the foal which was only less then 2 weeks ago, remember? And you were there? Besides I hope you havent forgotten about the show!”
“Cool. Nope I haven’t forgotten about it at all. Frisky and I are nearly ready. Say, Ash, Do you want to come over tomorrow?”
Ashleigh leaned against the wall and titled her head. “Sure, but I have to do some stuff with the foal. Maybe something with,” she paused here. “With Ty!”
Mona didn’t say anything. “Well…all right! I just hope they’ll get along. Well I have to go finish my homework now. See you tomorrow then,”
“Ok. Bye,” Ashleigh said into the receiver.

“Class. Today I will be handing back you’re science quizzes,” Ms. Wind announced at school the next day.
“Yes! I think I got really good,” Mona turned around to face Ashleigh.
Ashleigh just smiled. If she didn’t get higher then a C- she was in for it. That would be the end of working with Ty and having Mona over and maybe not even going into the show. Ashleigh just couldn’t figure out how much her parents were obssesed with her grades.
“The majority of you did well…” Ms Wind continued. “Mona Gardener, Miss Griffen! Turn to the front of the room NOW!”
Mona whirled around to face her, her cheeks a bright red.
“My mom is going to kill me!” Ashleigh hollered as she got onto the school bus.
“Oh Ash! It’s not THAT bad a grade,” her friend Jamie tried to encourage but for some reason, Ashleigh wasn’t to sure.
“Yeah, it’s only once.” pitched in Lynn.
Jamie and Lynn were Mona and Ashleigh’s good friends. However the girls weren’t all in the same class. Mona, Ashleigh and Jamie were in one class- Ms Wind’s and Lynn was put into Mr. Pat’s class.
Ashleigh sighed. “Thanks guys,” she said sliding into a seat along with Mona.
“Hey! Is anyone going riding after?” Jamie asked, once the school bus was on the route, driving.
“Yup. Ash and I are going to prepare for the show,” Mona started.
“The show?” a voice butted in.
It belonged to Anne- Marie Haywood- the snobbiest, richest, prettiest girl in their grade. She rode as well but her parents could afford her to ride at Richchester Riding Academy, a large fancy barn in town.
“Yes, Anne- Marie, the show…what about it?” Lynn asked. She and Anne-Marie were in the same class.
Anne Marie ignored her. “YOU’RE going in the biggest show of the year?” she demanded, rudely.
Ashleigh nodded. “Sure. Why not?”
“Well, for starters Ash-LEIGH with you’re terrible marks, I highly doubt you’d get anywhere. Also you don’t even have a real horse just an ol’ nag,” Anne-Marie snorted. “Where you spend most of your pitiful life in an old barn- more like a shed- but anyway” Anne Marie started.
“Leave her alone, Anne-MARIE!” Mona yelled so loud that the busdriver had to tell her to keep her voice down.
“Make me. You’re just as worse as Ashleigh,” Anne-Marie said with a smirk.
“You’re so mean, Anne-Marie. Just get a life!” Jamie spit out.
“All I’m syaing is you better all watch out. I just got myself a brand new thoroughbred who you all don’t stand a single chance to! Toodle lou then,” Anne-Marie tossed her long shiny red-blonde-brown pony-tail over her shoulders of her brand new cotton vest, then skipped away back to her seat.
Luckily, Ashleigh and Mona’s stop was right then. They waved goodbye to Jamie and Lynn and went away.
