Another dumb idea
It's said by pretentious wanks that writing a short story is harder than writing a novel, as you need to "pack much more into much less" - I disagree. For a novel you need an idea, and you need to type a lot of words (some of whiich may be long or "extended" as writers say). So taking this a step further, write a story in a single paragraph for us. That'll show your literary skills are tough as nails. A few rules: the story must have some semblace of weight, it can't just be "I met a girl at the sideshows and fucked her." unless it has an ironic twist (it was your sister, gramma, whatever), it shouldn't be a "punchline" story (I don't like them, fuck you!), it shouldn't be anything too Monkey related (I get enough short fiction about what bill does to my anus in private eMail already). Otherwise, have fun, be creative, rules exist to be brokwn like horses - I'll send a cheap gift to whoever does the best job, yadda yadda.
